MUMBAI: This year, Shravan Purnima or Rakshabandhan spans Tuesday and Wednesday. Though the festival tithi or lunar date begins at 10.22am on Tuesday, the inauspicious Bhadra period occurs simultaneously. "No auspicious ceremonies, including Rakshabandhan or Holi, are performed when the full moon is obscured by Bhadra. That period ends at 8.30pm on Tuesday, but it is not advisable to conduct the Rakshabandhan ritual at that hour. Sisters may tie rakhis to their brothers from 7.15am to 10am on Wednesday," said a religious expert.
