Mr. john has absolutely wrong findings about islam and science.
when the scince saying that the sun is a source of energy relegion explains who created and the power behind it.
when the science saying the human body creation is how complicate, the religion explain the creativity behind it.
when the science says the age of a human body, the religion explain about the power who restricted it...
in brief the science finding any thing which existing here while they have no control on it....
for example the science can predict the wheather, like rain, wind, landslide,tsunami, they have no control on it.because science find things not create. scinece is not the owner of things but the finder of things. can you prove anything that science created a thing from nothing?...
so there is no contradition between science and islam... bcause when the science explain how complicated is the unniverse we are able to know how power full is god.
in brief the science is the proof of god.....

As long as someone talk about his/her religion and spirituality, I have nothing to comment about it. It is one's birth right.
But when someone talks about science, I have a bit interest in it. Do not think that anything can be published or posted under the immunity of religion. Unlike religions, there is no sensitivity as long as the science is concerned, because it is a path of thought always ready absorb new ideas with zero intolerance.
Restrict the social criticism to the limits of one's religion is theocracy which is the worst form of social order that stands just opposite to democracy.

On what basis are you stating that sun has been left with only 500 years of life? Please try to read a bit more on this subject or at least talk to a Physics professor next to you.
The religions and the science are two different and parallel paths that never meet at any point. The religions stay unchanged about their doctrines while science is under constant change and it involves into better and better precisions. The religions stand behind a book or a definite number of books that talk the same subject, but the science is keep on getting new books and new way of thoughts every time.
Whatever a Muslim may argue, Islam is established in the 7th century as per the history of human beings. That point of time, mankind was very much exposed to the scientific facts, because the process of 'knowing' or science has started more than 10,000 years ago. So some of the then-known scientific facts would have crept into the Quran.
One can believe either in the religion or in the science. But if you try to believe in both, every time you will face the constant clashes and contradictions between these two.
