if you are using firefox, you can download youtube and other videos from such sites using a firefox add-on:

1. Open Firefox
2. Goto Tools>>Add-ons
3. Search for DownloadHelper add-on
4. select and install the DownloadHelper addon
5. Restart firefox
6. Open new tab and access www.youtube.com
7. search for any video
8. From the list of video, right click on the video title hyperlink
9. In the menu, you will see "Download videos from youtube links" option
10. Simply click it. The video will be downloaded to a folder.
