Dr. Uday Modi, Mumbai: A doctor has been feeding 500 old needy people daily for a decade :- Dr. Uday Modi, a resident of Bhayandar, Mumbai, arrived as an angel in disguise to such old people. As reported in NDTV, Dr. Modi feeds 500 helpless senior citizens on a daily basis free of cost. Almost Rs. 3 lakh is spent every month for feeding the old poor citizens.

The gracious idea emerged in Dr. Modi's mind when an old poor couple came to him for treatment. The doctor said that the needy couple did not even have Rs. 10 to buy a vada pav. They were not only in dire need of treatment, but also food. It was then when he decided to start feeding the helpless old people of the society every day for nothing in return.

Dr. Modi's tiffin service named Sharavan Tiffin Service started on a small scale with only 11 tiffins prepared in his house. Today it expanded up to 200 such tiffins catering to the needy abandoned elderly people of Mumbai's Mira-Bhayanadar area.

The food is prepared in his house in two separate kitchens with the aid of two cooks. The doctor ensures that food for diabetics is prepared in a separate kitchen. The doctor reportedly said that he has two tempo and four dealer vans in place to deliver the 'dabbas' to the respective localities. The daily tiffin usually contains 6 chappatis, a curry, dal and rice. On Sundays, a home-made dessert and farsan are added.

Almost Rs. 3 lakh is spent every month for feeding the old poor citizens. He receives lots of help and support from people and is sure that his service will go on. He even wishes to reach out to more such people and provide them a helping hand. The doctor was quoted saying that in a city where people come to achieve big dreams, he wants to build a 'Dikra nu ghar' for these old people - a home, like their own son's place where everything is taken care of, including food.

Dr. Modi is from Amreli, Gujarat, who moved to Mumbai to practice alternative medicine. Dr. Uday Modi and his family's service is praiseworthy and an eye-opener for many.

How a password changed my life!


How a Password Changed my Life...


 A true story from the Reader's Digest...


I was having an average  morning until I sat down in front of my office computer.


"your password has expired", a server message flashed on my screen, with instructions for changing it...


In my company we have to change passwords monthly...


I was deeply depressed after my recent divorce. Disbelief over what she had done to me was what I thought all day long... Lot of hatred and dissatisfaction.


I remembered a tip I'd heard from my former boss. He'd said, "I'm going to use a password that is going to change my life".


I couldn't focus on getting things done in my current mood.. My password reminded me that I shouldn't let myself be a victim of my recent breakup and that I was strong enough to do something about it.


I made my password – Forgive@her. I had to type this password several times every day, each time my computer would lock. Each time I came back from lunch I wrote forgive her.


The simple action changed the way I looked at my ex-wife.. That constant reminder of reconciliation led me to accept the way things happened and helped me deal with my depression..


By the time the server prompted me to change my password following month, I felt free.

 


The next time I had to change my password I thought about the next thing that I had to get done. My password became Quit@smoking4ever.

 

It motivated me to follow my goal and I was able to quit smoking.

 

One month later, my password became Save4trip@europe,  and in three months I was able to visit Europe.

 


Reminders helped me materialize my goals and kept me motivated and excited. It's  sometimes difficult to come up with your next goal keeping at it brings great results.

 


After a few months my password was -


*lifeis#beautiful*


*Life is indeed beautiful and today I am enjoying my life without any hatred, dissatisfaction and guilt.*

How to converse with God?


Conversation means, exchange of understandings. Understanding requires a connectable conceptual base. Unless one connects to some concept already existing in the mind, one cannot understand. If the conceptual bases are different, then there can be no exchange of understandings and conversation.

In the case of God, the conceptual base is the Universe or even the Multiverse, if the latest theory is correct. The conceptual base of God covers the vast Microcosm and also the equally vast Macrocosm---the energies and particles of the standard model, the tiny bacteria and virus, in every atom,molecule,of the planets,stars,cosmic dust of every Galaxy, every quasar, every blackhole,of every universe and ultimately the multiverse—the Space-time continuum.

Now what is the conceptual connecting base of the human being, the machine synthesized by the non-oxygen breathing bacteria, so that this human being with his industrialization, wars etc will remove every source of oxygen, enabling the non oxygen dependent bacteria can stage a comeback and reclaim their earth.

To escape the Oxygen holocaust that happened millions of years ago, which killed entire non oxygen breathing bacteria for thousands of years, they synthesized the humans to provide shelter inside them and also make them destroy the entire oxygen creating biosphere. This sufficiently mad human, who thinks that his destruction of the entire outer layer of the earth consisting of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, troposphere and the biosphere, is advancement in science, for whom the conceptual base is the false 3D bodies, the tool synthesized by the anaerobic bacteria, feels superior to every other organism on earth.

How is this mad human to converse with God? This human does not even realize that he is not a 3D body of length, breadth and height but actually a macro body as a part of the earth. He does not realize that he has to make the entire climate and nature his personal identity.

Our sages once could communicate with every organism, because their communication was not verbal wording but the interaction of feelings. Now how is the present human to whom communication means the Shannon-Weaver electronic signals only with no feelings at all, to converse with God, to whom machines simply are ungodly? God created bio entities and not scooters.

Oatmeal: Eating breakfast is one of the easiest ways to jumpstart your metabolism, regulate your blood sugar levels, and give you enough energy to tackle your day.


Opt for complex carbs like oatmeal, which is packed with fibre. As a source of whole grains, oats are absorbed slowly and keep your blood sugar steady. They also keep hunger pangs and cravings under control. If plain oatmeal lacks appeal, try adding fresh fruits for some natural sweetness and an extra dose of fibre.


Almonds: Although foods rich in trans and saturated fat will inflate your stomach, studies show that monounsaturated fats can actually help enhance your body's fat-burning capacity. Given the water-retaining properties of sodium, opt for unsalted nuts and keep portions moderate (eg. 10 walnuts or 15 almonds). If you're allergic to nuts, other great sources of monounsaturated fats include avoca does, seeds, olives and olive oil.


Eggs: Good things come in small packages and eggs are proof of that.Packed with protein, eggs can help you build muscle, achieve a leaner physique and ensure you stay fuller for longer. Eggs are also an excellent source of choline, which helps optimise cardiovascular health. Although notorious for being high in cholesterol and calories compared to the white portion of the egg, the yolk is especially good to eat when trying to lose belly fat. In fact, that's where most of the nutrients lie including vitamin B12, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids.


Probiotic-rich foods: Yoghurt, kimchi, miso and sauerkraut. Bloating is often a result of inflammation in the gut due to bacterial imbalance.


By cultivating the growth of `good' bacteria, regular con sumption of probiotic rich foods can help improve gut health and minimise symptoms related to digestive discomfort.


Simultaneously, limit your consumption of:
Sugary foods From affecting hormonal activity pertaining to fat loss to stimulating cravings for high-fat sugary foods, throwing hunger levels out of whack, eating too much sugar can hamper your body from burning fat, particularly around the belly. Simple swaps can drastically help slash your sugar intake.

As a result, packaged foods act as a breeding ground for inflammation and hamper the body from burning fat around the belly.
