Anthropomorphism is a basic human trait by which we attribute human emotions, intentions and behaviour to non-human entities such as the wind, the Sun, the moon as well as to animals. All fables and myths are driven by this psychic force of anthropomorphism.

Thus the story of the rabbit and the tortoise attributes human qualities and aspirations to the tortoise and the rabbit who engage in a racing competition as humans do though we know that rabbits and tortoises cannot speak to each other or come to an agreement.

In the case of the fables such as that of the anthropomorphic story of the rabbit and the tortoise we know in our consciousness itself that the story is just fiction. But there are other stories which are as anthropomorphic as the story of the tortoise and the rabbit which we take for real. This is especially so in religion and myths. Thus our ideas of gods and divinities have evolved in tune with our way of life and anthropomorphism.

In our original savage way of life we lived in roving bands with simple social structures like that of animals. Accordingly the gods of savage communities took on the qualities of savage chiefs and elders. This must have probably come about from our dreams about our parents and elders which led us to believe that they still roamed about after death and loved to have food, meat and drinks as during their real lives. Gods such as Siva and Muruka probably belong to this primordial savage period of human civilization. What is more some of the gods took on the shape of animals found in the locality. Thus we have elephants in India and accordingly we have Ganesh the elephant headed god. In contrast Greece had no elephants; but they had horses and so they had centaurs – half man and half horse. Egyptians worshipped the sphinx which is half lion and half man. Australia had no elephants or horses or lions and so Aborigines worshipped alligators which dominated Australia.

Subsequently we developed agriculture and out societies evolved into villages, cities, kingdoms and empires. It was during this period of agricultural civilization that most of the great religions of the world arose. Accordingly anthropomorphism came into the picture and we see that the gods of this period having courts like that of emperors and kings with courtesans (apsaras in Hinduism and Houris in Islam) messengers (Gabriel, Jibreel, Narad, Hermes in Greek mythology, Mercury in Roman mythology .. etc) We are taught that gods are omnipresent and omnipotent and as such they do not need any messenger to deliver their messages. However our anthropomorphic compulsions stand in the way of our rationale and we swallow stories of gods acting like kings and engaging in human regal pastimes like hunting, gambling, warring, romancing, raping, fornicating etc. Vendettas were a way of life during this agrarian way of life and so we have the story of the Bible where god carries out vendetta on the children of Adam and Eve for their sin of disobeying god. The final judgment which forms a very crucial dogma of the Christian faith is nothing but an anthropomorphization of kings sitting in judgments over their subjects.

3. Maximize the Magnesium
Magnesium is a mineral known to help prevent the onset of Type II diabetes and should be consumed as much as possible. It is best to consume natural sources of magnesium such as spinach, fish, nuts, leafy greens and avocados. All of these foods have been proven to lower the risk of diabetes and can even aid in weightless.



4. Cardamom is great!
Cardamom originates in the ginger family of spices and comes from Asia as well as South America. The spice is known to regulate Type II diabetes and can be sprinkled on coffee, tea, yogurt and even cereal. The spice is known to help decrease blood glucose levels by eighteen to thirty percent.


5. Buckwheatsoba
Buckwheat is an excellent source of fiber that you may never have heard of. It also does wonders for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Buckwheat comes in the form of soba noodles, which are a delicious substitute for rice or pasta as well as in a number of powders that can be added to baked goods or even on top of a slice of (whole wheat) bread.


6. Drink in Moderation
Alcohol contains huge amounts of sugar, and anyone trying to watch out for their blood sugar should definitely moderate the amount of alcohol they consume. It is best to occasionally drink wine with dinner, and not after dinner when the same glass of wine could alter insulin levels in the blood.


7. Watch Fat Intake

8. Exercise Daily

12. Drink Decaf, Not Regular coffee
Decaffeinated coffee slows down the rate at which the intestines absorb sugars and speeds up the absorption of sugar by the muscles.


13. Eat Smaller Meals
It is best to have a small meal every half hour and then another small meal (or a second half of the regular sized meal) later on. It is also important to eat regularly so that insulin levels don't spike, but remain stable throughout the day.


14. Get Enough Sleep
Sleep deprivation can affect blood sugar and insulin levels so it is important to get enough sleep each night. It is also essential to stop snoring because according to some studies, those who snore are more likely to develop diabetes (because snoring is often tied to being overweight).


15. Learn Relaxation
Listen to soothing music or read an interesting book, whatever you need to do to relax. Meditation and yoga can also help if they are done properly and on a regular basis.

1. It is possible that we might lose eye sight, gradually, without even our noticing it, till it becomes a major problem.

 

If you find yourself suffering from sudden and temporary blurred vision, changes in your night vision, changes in how you read and write, increased clumsiness (brushing more and more against objects) or an increased sensitivity to light, then you may be developing an eyesight problem.

Consult the eye specialist.

 

2. Natural ways to maintain / improve your eyesight:

a) Eye -friendly Diet:

Eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables will keep your eyesight from deteriorating and might even help improve it! Vitamin A, C, and E, are all important to eye health as well as foods rich in antioxidants.

 

Also, don't forget to add Omega 3 to your regular diet. These fatty acids are essential nutrients that have great health benefits. Most people know that they are good for your heart, but many don't realize that it can help keep your retinas healthy and slow down age-related eyesight deterioration.

 

To get all of these great nutrients, you can eat more things like kale, chard, collards, spinach and carrots. Salmon and tuna are excellent for omega 3 and if you want even more beneficial non-meat protein you can have some bananas, beans or nuts.

 

It's important to remember that a change in your diet alone will only protect your eyes from more harm and can only lead to a minor improvement in your sight.

 

2 b. Perform Eye Exercises

One of the best ways to naturally improve your vision is to perform daily eye exercises. Don't forget, your eyes have muscles just like your arms or legs.

 

Start by doing an eye "warm up", rub your palms together and place them over your eyes. Hold your hands over your eyes for five to 10 seconds, and repeat 3-4 times.

 

Your first exercise should be to just roll your eyes up and down without straining them too much. Look up as far as you can, and then look down. Repeat this 10 times. Now look to each side, repeating 10 times. Finally, roll your eyes in a clockwise motion about 10 times, then reverse the movement and roll them counter-clockwise 10 times as well.

 

When you are done, grab a pen or a pencil and hold it at arm's length, making sure it is at eye level. Focus on the tip as you slowly move it closer to your eyes. Always focus on the tip as you move it closer to you, and then back to arm's length. Repeat this 9 more times.

 

When you're done, massage your temples with your fingertips and gently move to your eyebrows and under your eyes as well. If your eyes feel tired close them and let them rest for a few moments. Just like at the gym, these muscles can get tired if you overwork them.

 

But above all, consult a specialist periodically and also immediately when you notice even a minor variation to ur sight.

 

Eyes are important- no one need to tell us that.
