[www.keralites.net] Fwd: [Fropki] An Introvert’s Guide To Surviving In The New Workplace

No matter how many jobs you have changed, every place is a new experience and can be equally stressful and overwhelming. If you are an introvert changing jobs, adjusting to the new environment can be painful if you don't know how to deal with it. Here are few tips that might help you to adjust to a new job if you are an introvert.

Don't fake it

It might be possible that you were hired because of your introvert personality, and that's what they were looking for. There is no need to feel pressurised and fake a personality you don't really relate to. It is most important to remain true to yourself. Remind yourself that there a lot of great things about being an introvert.

Make a daily ritual of saying 'Hi' to your co-workers

Everyday take out some time to walk about a bit in the office, chat with your colleagues or drop a quick hello. Turning socialising into a daily habit will eventually make you feel comfortable in the environment.

Communicate on time and often

Introverts can fall into the 'out of sight, out of mind' zone. So its important to share your ideas and information with the higher-ups and team members as well. The mantra is you need to be a little pro-active!

Reach office early

Getting to the office early can solve a lot of issues, especially if it's a new job. Trust us, it can work wonders to help you feel more comfortable. It feels good to have some quite time to yourself before your colleagues arrive. It can help you embrace the day and not feel stressed or overwhelmed when it's time for working together on projects.
