Gulf countries adhere to their rules and regulations. If you enter into another country with a visa that does not mean that you are free to do anything especially in Gulf countries. More over if you enter into any gulf country under one sponsor work under that sponsor before he release you for another sponsor. Abide the rules and regulations you will be safe. If you play havoc in you will end up in Jail. Simple factor. This is from experience as I have dealt with immigration and visa rules in Gulf. Please do not expect that a politician or embassy will save you from jail in any Gulf country like in India.

After reading the mail of our group friends, I too spent few years in these GCC countries like Qatar, Oman, 3-6 months each in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia on deputation and now in the UAE. ok, I have never been asked to show neither my Labour Card nor resident permit by the authorities. I remember once or twice when I was driving from the worksite towards city, late night, police asked to show the driving license. that's all. While I agree that any case related to drugs/illegal / criminal activities never tolerated in the GCC countries.
Why to involve in such activities. We including myself, come here to earn our bread and respect the law of the land always without questioning them. work as long as you are permitted to, leave the country with a clean chit. I never or my work force faced any problem in this country.
I always admire the administration, law and order in these countries.

Hi, Hello,How will they just put someone behind bars without any reason!!!. Then so many of our peopleshould be inside jails. We like to just sensationalise issues without knowing the facts. When willwe have the wisdom to not only wait to know the facts but also view matters dispassionately. Iwas in KSA for more than 10 years between 1992 March and 2002 November and my ResidencePermiit was asked to be shown only once close to Market Area/Mall etc. and that too duringdaytime around 1100 hours.Rgds RAM
