Dear Mr Shahul
During 600 AD there was NO Kerala or Kodungallure evenIt was many many small countries within India and Cheera, Chola,Pandava, Pallawa etc were the few among strong in that time and Ceraman Perumal was one of the ruler of Chera Dynasty and Chera Dynasty
Spreads from present Kerala ( later on it was even known as Travancore ,Malabar , Cochin etc etc..NO Kerala )till Madras Quarter portion . That was the region of Chera Dynasty . And present Kodungallure was their capital and the name that time was known as Lokamaleswaram
Hence, Cheraman Perumal was the ruler of Cheraman Dynasty ( Ref Indian History by D Baskra Rao)
