Helen Nelson Reed (Helena Nelson-Reed) was born in Seattle, Washington, and was raised in Marin County, California. 

Helen Nelson Reed largely self-taught artist. Her emphasis in educational psychology - the study of the collective consciousness and archetypal images in the tradition of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. Her areas of interest are also tales and legends of Native American culture of the ancient Celts. 

Today Helena Nelson-Reed lives in Illinois. 

The luminous watercolor technique allows her to express the ephemeral. His paintings Elena Nelson Reed prescribes in great detail. Her work can be found in private collections, on the covers of books, magazines and CDs.
