Dear Mr Venu
With the progress in India during the last decade (Kerala in particular) what are the so-called 'shocks' (? electric) you experienced ?? --- is it the shocks you got after your last electricity bill?----- (Compare it with any other south Indian state - power cuts only for an hour and a half till now, compared to 4 to 6 hours or more a day in TN and Karnataka). Our "kochu Keralam" is not bad in any way (only 1 1/2 hours power cut) - the food (vegetable) prices are well within the food inflation limits The problem with kerala is that it has people residing abroad with your mind set who feel that nothing is working in Kerala...... Sorry sir , every thing is working here, and as a NRK you should appreciate the good life most of the Keralites including the families of NRK's are enjoying. The only problem with our "God's Own Country' is that we have too much of politics (you cant help it) . We need smaller air ports in every district!!!! only then there will be progress in our completely urbanised and developed Kerala (with poor roads and highways anyway!!!). Tourism is our big economic support, next to the the NRI wealth which you people bring in --- all the more reason we need more air ports. Kerala has achieved a lot, thanks to its forward thinking overseas Keralites and hard working resident Indians who are supportive of the progress and to our past and present goverments (UDF or LDF).
Please try to appreciate what we have achieved!!!

People should protest against such projects...Viswas Menon

We don't need anymore airports in Kerala. Three International Airports is more enough in a small state like KERALA. Airports are not like KSRTC Bus Stand to be built in each and every District and it is not a common transport media. Why dont all keralites and government could re-think to invest that money to make that area (same land proposed for airport) for a good Agricultural FARM that could atleast avoid relying on other states for vegetables. Please please please stop building concrete structures and airports...we need our kerala to be back as gods own country with good climate, nature and foodOn Wed, May 1, 2013 at 7:39 PM, Vinayachandran S <vinchand59@gmail.com> wrote:Let us all stop spreading blatant lies.Pl understand that this unwanted luxury of an airport at Aranmula is not at all aimed at development as wrongly made out to be.Kerala doesn't require any more airports.Pathanamthitta needs development ; but not only through an unwanted airport; but people should find employemnt and evelopmen thro active agricuture in the green fields available there. If at all airport is something very essential for the returns once in a while, it may be relocated at Kottayam, Idukki areas where less cultivation of useful edible crops are done unlike Aranmula in Pathanamthitta.Pathanamthitta should look for development thro other means and not by the destruction of whatever greenery and cultivable land is remaining. We all know how strong the lobby for the desturction is and how well they keep on spreading lies in justifying this wasteful expenditure. With due respect to this powerful lobby, we plead, please stop spreading wrng justifications for this colossal waste of airport at Aranmula.

Dear All,An airport at Aranmula will not cause national catastropy or damage to the local as people predict. In fact it will creat a large number employment scopes as well as developments in the district. Which of the Kerala airports are construction on desert? A large percentage of expatriates are from this district and nearby districts. All the factories, IT parks or any other facilities have used or constructed on lands which were previously used for cultivations. The people who don't like Pathanamthitta district development or they may the value or importants of other place may deminish are obstructing this project.Daniel K.
