Yes, I entirely agree with the view that undue credit has been given to Mr.MODI for the development of Gujarat which, was well ahead of many other States in India much before the birth of Mr.Modi at the helm of affairs as the CM Gujarat. Perhaps, Kerala Politicians lack the astute media canvassing ability of Mr.Modi for creating much hype for nothing. By now, it is a well known fact that Gujarat is far below many of the States in respect of Human Development Index, GDP, sex ratio, girl child literacy, health front, life expectacy, etc., inspite of all the hype and fanfare of Mr.Modi's development model. It is only when one visits the Gujarat villages, one can witness the true story of the pathetic situation prevailing there and the sorry plight of the poor people living there. Perhaps, all developments in Gujarat has been confined to a few pockets or industrialists whereas Kerala has always been aimed at all inclusive development model.
Has any one ever debated over the issue as to why Mr.Modi has deliberately avoided appointment of LOK AYUKT/LOK PAL in the State over 8 long years and ultimately when the Governor acted upon the recommendation of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of Gujarat by appointing a upright retired senior Judge of the Gujarat High Court, the same has repeatedly been challenged to courts after another and ultimately even though the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India upheld the appointment, the issue is still dragged on....?
Kerala or Keralites need not take any lessons from Mr.Modi or his Gujarat for developing the State. The Kerala Government under the Shri Ommen Candy and several Keralites have already demostrated that they have the capacity to bring about all inclusive development of Kerala State. One cannot forget the fact that even much before Mr.Modi came in to power in the state of Gujarat, KERALA had set up the country's first Techno Park in the year 1990 ! Further, the "START UP VILLAGE" set up at Kalamassery, Kochi which the first such centre in the country and second in the world, is a live example of the brain power of young Keralites . There have been several other initiatives by the Kerala Government/Keralities much of which have not been publicised as have been regularly done by Gujarat politicians.
No doubt, Keralites much stop the "BANDH/HARTAL" culture which not only is impediment for development but also damages and diminishes the IMAGE of Kerala and Keralities.
