REMEMBERING THE IRON MAN OF INDIA ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATELJI

The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31 as "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day) every year. The day will be marked by administration of a pledge to all government employees as well as school and college students, to maintain the unity and integrity of the country. Sardar Patel, an independence leader who played a crucial role in uniting India's fractious states. He was an Indian Barrister and statesman, one of the leaders of the Indian National congress and one of the founding fathers of the Republic India.

Sardar Patel was a man of principles. A fierce nationalist, he never believed in compromising with his core philosophy of 'nation first'. Basically it was his success in integrating around 565 princely states after independence that got him the sobriquet of 'Iron Man'.He always used to say that his only dream and desire is that India should be a good producer and no one should be hungry shedding tears for the food in the country.

Mahatma gandhi gave the title sardar to patel ji. sardar means commander. Patel ji was a good leader who had great leadership qualities and had excellent qualities of leading/guiding people during the feedom struggle. mahatma gandhi ji used to call him sardar.
