Giant sequoias are the world's largest trees. They are simply impossible to miss, and show us how big life form can grow to, in our world. They grow to an average height of 50–85m (160–279ft) and 6–8m (20–26ft) in diameter. Record trees have been measured to be 94.8m (311ft) in height and over 17m (56ft) in diameter. Enjoy this photo series of the most gigantic tree on the planet!     The oldest known giant sequoia, based on ring count, is 3,500 years old. The largest Sequoia still standing today is the colossal 'Hyperion', reaching 115m (377 ft) in height!
