Is honesty the best policy? Rs.500 for returning 1 kg gold :-
Pune-based scrap dealer Subhash Vadavrao, whose annual income is less than Rs.50,000, decided on Wednesday to return Rs.28 lakh worth of gold ornaments which belonged to an industrialist's family.
The scrap vendor who had bought two iron cupboards from them found 1 kg of gold in one of the iron cupboard. And without a second thought Vadavrao returned the gold ornaments to its owner.
Vadavrao went himself to the industrialist's residence in the area and asked them if they had kept anything in the iron cupboards sold to him. Vadavrao also showed them the jewellery and asked if it belonged to them.
Pleased with the act of honesty, the owner the jewellery rewarded him with Rs. 500 only.
