Seen here are the beautiful tide pools at Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, also known as Rocky Point. The sunset capture by Dune Newhouse shows Gavin Beschen and his daughter exploring the area at this fast-growing, northern Mexico beach town.

Puerto Peñasco has two distinctive beaches separated by Whale Hill. Located to the south east of Whale Hill (which starts with Playa Mirador, the oldest developed beach in Rocky Point), are the great tide pools where a wide variety of sea life can be found when the tide is low in the shore reefs.
