Re: [www.keralites.net] It is there in GUJARAT but not in KERALA!

Dear friend,

It appears clear that you have mastered the art of a master politician like Mr.Narendra Modi who pose questions and give readymade answers to the same without allowing anyone to express his or her own free and independent opinion. While one-time visitors like Mr.MC George and others might have been highly impressed by the situation prevailing in Gujarat, as one who has been a resident of Gujarat for over 4 decades now, I not inclined to agree with the blanket answers given by you to the questions raised by you. For your information, there are regular hartals/strikes,etc., in Gujarat too; there are damaged roads in Gujarat having pothols, students in Gujarat also indulges in frequent strikes for no valid reasons, power cuts are there in Gujarat too, there have been several instances of street fights by youth and inactions by police in Gujarat too. So, please do not mislead people by making out that Gujarat is a paradise on earth whereas Kerala is hell-like State. The most striking difference I have noted between a Keralite and a Gujarati is that while the former never lost an opportunity to criticise Kerala and rich culture, a Gujarati can never even imagine of the same but would always be grateful to his/her State wherever he/she may be.

After all, one should not forget the fact the rich traditions and culture of Kerala has only enriched him with the knowledge and competence to pass such judgements. Inspite of all media hype by the cyber force of Mr.Narendra Modi, I am of the view that Gujarat can never surpass the record of Kerala in most areas, especially that of human and social development. Any casual visitor to Gujarat travelling through the cities and national highways may be impressed, but unless one actually travels through the interiors of the State and live here for a considerable length of time, one cannot get a correct view of the prevailing scenario in Gujarat.

Many of my Gujarati friends have visited the State of Kerala and they were also highly impressed about development of Kerala and the culture of Keralites. Some of them, in fact, have already purchased properties in Kerala to settle down there. So, please try to understand that there are two sides in every story.

Dear Nair,
But please tell me the followings.
1. Does Gujarat have Strikes / hartals every month (No.)
2. Can you find youths fighting in streets and destroying public properties and police WATCHING it. (No)
3. Can you find students union striking for no reasons in Gujarat (No)
4. Is there power cut in Gujarat (No)
5. Can you find damaged roads (especially National Highways) in Gujarat (No)
Due the above and more reasons You cannot compare Gujarat with Kerala. As Kerala has it own identities which nobody (even god) cannot change.
If you want Kerala to be like Gujarat (It will remain a dream even after few generations). So better go to Gujarat.
This is my personal opinion and frustruations.
Regards
Anil

Very interesting article by Dr. MC Gearge, Advocate from Muvattupuzha, who has visited Gujarat with few farmers from Kerala. He recommends that every progressive politician from Kerala should visit Gujarat and ascertain by himself that what Gujarat Government with Narendra Mody's leadership doing there. He is creating miracles there.
