നിറങ്ങളുടെ ഉല്‍സവം
വസന്തകാലത്തെ എതിരേല്‍ക്കാന്‍ ഹിന്ദുക്കള്‍ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവമാണ് ഹോളി. നിറങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവം എന്നും വസന്തോത്സവം എന്നും ഹോളിയെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം. ഉത്തരേന്ത്യയിലാണ് പ്രധാനമായും ഹോളി ആഘോഷിച്ചുവരുന്നത്. ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയിലും ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഹോളി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഗുജറാത്തികളും മാര്‍വാടികളും പഞ്ചാബികളുമാണ് ഹോളി ആഘോഷത്തിനു മുന്‍പന്തിയില്‍ നില്‍ക്കുന്നവരെങ്കിലും മുംബൈ,ദില്ലി പോലുള്ള നഗരങ്ങളില്‍ ഹോളി ആഘോഷിക്കാത്തവര്‍ തന്നെ ചുരുക്കമാണെന്നു പറയാം. ജാതി മതഭേദമന്യേ ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഹോളി ആഘോഷങ്ങളില്‍ പങ്കുചേരുന്നു. പരസ്പരം നിറം പുരട്ടുമ്പോള്‍ ശത്രുത അകലുമെന്നതാണ് വിശ്വാസം
