Both of you have points, but deserves sensitive debate for adding fun with intelligence. The more you avoid emotions the better it is.

Would a really beautiful woman ever claim she is !

A man with wisdom will never claim that he knows ( rather he says what he doesn't know ) !

Highly fragrant flower wouldn't mind blossoming at night !

A genuinely spiritual individual will never clamor about any God or his/her virtues .... because anyone meeting that person can feel and experience the godliness within him/her.

When you are insecure and do not trust in yourself you will try to affiliate with some god / spiritual power and 'pretend ' you are better ( a kind of ego defense )

I wish a comparative religious study, delivered in a completely unbiased manner was available to thinking young minds.

Your so called bible is created by MEN and the hatred is seeded from that time(as per your version).
Every religious leaders are selfish and enjoy life without sweating (hard work) that is why these killings continue in the name of religion.
 
Some wise MEN created "GOD" to create Fear which will ensure reduction of criminal activities. But the followers became cruked and mean and then only the violance stated.
Believe in your self and help others around you. You don't have to practice any religion.
