Increase in price of any commodity affects only common man. Politicians and Bureaucrats need not buy petrol. Their petrol expenses are borne by Govt. Whether it is dropping the children in School, going for shopping, outings for near & dears, relatives, friends etc. use of SUVs by the spoilt brats of these species.These are all their perks. We are only banging our heads against the wall. We have to live with it, until a catastrophe occurs wiping out the entire generation.

ഒരു ബാരല്‍ അസംസ്കൃത എണ്ണ ഡോളര്‍ 100 നു കിട്ടുന്നു. ഒരു ബാരല്‍ സമം 159 ലിറ്റര്‍. മൊത്തം പൈസ 5600 രൂപ. ഒരു ലിറ്ററിന് കൂലി 6.52 രൂപ. മൊത്തം കൂലി 1036.68 രൂപ. ആകെ മൊത്തം 6636.68. ഇനി താഴെ പറയുന്ന കണക്കു നോക്കാം. പെട്രോള്‍ 73 x 18.36 = 1340.28, ഡീസല്‍ 40 x 10.02= 400.80, മണ്ണെണ്ണ 16 x 4.17 = 66.72, LPG 7 x 1.67 = 11.69, മറ്റു ഉത്പന്നങ്ങള്‍ 30 x 7.52 = 225.60. ആകെ മൊത്തം 2045.09. രണ്ടും തമ്മിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം 6636.68 - 2045.09 = 4591.59 രൂപ.
ഈ വത്യാസം അറിയാതെ സംഭവിച്ച അബദ്ധമാണോ അതോ മനപ്പൂര്‍വം ആളുകളെ പറ്റിക്കാം എന്ന് കരുതി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതാണോ? മേലെ പറഞ്ഞ വത്യസത്തിനു മുകളില്‍ നമ്മുടെ മധുര മനോജ്ഞ ജനാതിപത്യ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ചുമത്തുന്ന 101 തരാം നികുതികളും.

Good to see your response.Point 1, has great relevance,but if advt are not given how will the publishing/media survive.Likewise,if we have to give employment to millions of people, a certain amount has to be catered for that.Why do we give huge donations to other countries??Why do we spend billions on defending the country,why do we give subsidy to practically everything for our daily needs??why do we allot so much for our space programmes??.why do we have huge expenditure on so many welfare schemes for the poor and unemployed???If we cut off all these expenses,we may be better off, but in a world scenario,it is not possible.Coming back to oil industry,except for a couple of companies all others are owned by the Govt of India and the profits, if they generate, is ploughed back to the govt kitty to be spend on our development pro grammes.So it is all in a balance and such a balance has to be maintained by the govt,be it UPA or NDA at the centre.Pl do not see petrol prices as a singular issue.Farmers have to be given support prices for their produce which will rot in our godowns.Expenses in every field has gone up and will only continue to do so as we all want more money as our salaries,we want cars,a/cs homes,education in the best schools for our children and the list is endless.Where will the money come from??So it is all a vicious cycle.In my younger days a family needed about 800Rs for a decent living,but now will 8000/80000 do??As a colleague in the medical profession,why do we charge so much for a consultation from Rs 50 then to Rs 500 now here??Why any small procedures are charged so high??Why medications are so expensive.My medical bills have gone from 1800 to 4300 in the past 3-4 years for almost the same regime??We have no answers for so many questions.Govts are run by very ordinary common people in the garb of politicians.They can do precious little to help the common man-the AAM AADMI who ultimately is the sufferer.Thanks,Take care,

Thanks for your email message. Like this informative message to be spread in our group members. If you don't mind, can you tell me what is the base of this calculation. As far as my knowledge processing cost of crude in Refinery very expensive due to big processing plants, manpower and their health package etc., This is not 6.52/L as you mentioned below. Therefore, petroleum products are very expensive.Thanks

Dear Samwhy dont we think in a broader sense.During elections we can talk about politics, but doest it mean that throughout our life we are slaves of politicians. Your response seems to be that others are offending congress party or ruling government. Second UPA govt is interested only in hiking rates and please remember good governace includes control of prices also. Is there any sincere effort to control any prices from this government. I appreciate present govt. of kerala for some efforts for good governace. Oil prices are related to many factors, but look at these points1. why these people are giving huge advertisements and sponsoring. 3-5% of their income they are spending on this. We are filling petrol not on these ads. Answer is they get 10-15% of the ad,revenue as incentives to higher authorities.2. Any job has risks, oil rigs also. But they have a high pay packages, OK, accepted,. But the same packages are available to all staff including admin who had never seen an oil unless it is a picnic.why dont they form a regulatory authority to study these issueslet us think for our wellness, not for the wellness of politicians alonedr, sreekumar
