Rather than trying to avoid criticism, expert performers welcome it. They seek out coaches and advisors who can give them constructive, sometimes even painful feedback. They then use this feedback as a guide for steady improvement.

Here are some steps you can take to handle criticism effectively:

1. Acknowledge Your Error - Acknowledging a mistake is not the same as acknowledging that you are an inferior person/a failure. If you believe the criticism is accurate, take full responsibility. Don't blame something or someone else and don't make excuses. If appropriate, offer a diplomatic apology: "I'm sorry that my actions led to that result. It certainly was not my intention." Again, if appropriate, ask for suggestions on how you can improve your performance the next time.

2. Take Corrective Action - After you've heard the other person out completely, and listened to any suggestions for improvement, state/communicate your eagerness to improve in the future. If appropriate, describe any actions you will take at his time to counterbalance your previous error.

3. Acknowledge the other person's motive - Thank the other person for the feedback and make sure to state how valuable you consider it. This demonstrates your ability to use criticism as a way to improve – an essential quality of a leader. In addition, let the other person know that you are open to receiving his or her feedback in the future.

Even when you don't care for the style in which criticism is presented, be thankful that the other person is willing to give you feedback, and along with it, an opportunity to improve.

The Ripple Effect

In a world of six billion people, it's easy to believe that the only way to initiate profound transformation is to take extreme action. Each of us, however, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse.Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others. As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward. The impact you have on the world is greater than you could ever imagine, and the choices you make can have far-reaching consequences. You can use the ripple effect to make a positive difference and spread waves of kindness that will wash over the world.

Should the opportunity arise, the recipient of a good deed will likely feel compelled to do a good deed for someone else. Someone feeling the effects of negative energy will be more likely to pass on that negative energy. One act of charity, one thoughtful deed, or even one positive thought can pass from individual to individual, snowballing until it becomes a group movement or the ray of hope that saves someone's life. Every transformation, just like every ripple, has a point of origin. You must believe in your ability to be that point of origin if you want to use the ripples you create to spread goodness. Consider the effect of your thoughts and actions, and try to act graciously as much as possible.

A smile directed at a stranger, a compliment given to a friend, an attitude of laughter, or a thoughtful gesture can send ripples that spread among your loved ones and associates, out into your community, and finally throughout the world.You have the power to touch the lives of everyone you come into contact with and everyone those people come into contact with. The momentum of your influence will grow as your ripples moves onward and outward. One of those ripples could become a tidal wave of positivity

Harvard seeks collaboration with Patanjali Yogpeeth

Fun & Info @ Keralites.netDehra Dun: Though yoga guru, Baba Ramdev and his Patanjali Yogpeeth of late seem to be in the news for wrong reasons, but there is something for the saffron clad Baba, who is all out to take against the centre on the issue of FDI, something to cheer about.

The Harvard University, has written to the Patanjali Yogpeeth that with its collaboration, the world renowned University would like to undertake courses in both yoga and ayurveda. While Baba Ramdev is in doldrums in the country because of his ante against the Congress, his efforts are being appreciated the world over.

In fact, both yoga and ayurveda have been under the constant watch of the world community since quite some time and of late their importance has not only been recognized, but appreciated even by well known scientists in the field of medicine, which is perhaps why Harvard has approached Patanjali Yogpeeth.

Sources in the Patanjali Yogpeeth said that they had received a letter from senior vice president and secretary of Harvard University, A H Covan in which the latter had proposed that courses in yoga and ayurvedic medicines be started at Harvard in collaboration with the Yogpeeth, which was being looked into.

They said that of late the western world had recognized the importance of both yoga and ayurvedic medicines and the letter mentioned that even NASA is now keen to ensure that its scientists benefit from yoga and ayurveda.

Asked as to by when the proposal would get through, he said that right now the issue is just at a proposal stage and various aspects of the issue have to be studied, but every effort would be made to start the courses at Harvard at the earliest.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം തമ്പാനൂര്‍ സാവിത്രിഭവനില്‍ ആര്‍. ശോഭനയും ഭര്‍ത്താവ് പി.കെ. തമ്പിരാജും ചേര്‍ന്ന് 1984ലാണ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ട്രാവന്‍കൂറിന്‍െറ ചാല ബ്രാഞ്ചില്‍നിന്ന് 15,000 രൂപ വായ്പയെടുക്കുന്നത്. സമയത്തിന് പണം തിരികെയടക്കാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് കഴിയാതെവന്നപ്പോള്‍ ബാങ്ക് കോടതിയില്‍ കേസ് ഫയല്‍ ചെയ്തു. കേസ് തീര്‍പ്പിനു വരുമ്പോള്‍ വായ്പാതുക പലിശയടക്കം 19,500 രൂപയായി ഉയര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു. വായ്പക്ക് ഈടായി നല്‍കിയ കടമുറി ജപ്തി ചെയ്യാന്‍ കോടതി ബാങ്കിന് അനുമതി നല്‍കി. വര്‍ഷം 14,000 രൂപ വാടകലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന ഈ മുറി പിന്നീട് കോടതിയുടെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലായി. 1996 ജൂലൈ മുതല്‍ 2006 മേയ് വരെ ഈ മുറിയില്‍നിന്നുള്ള വാടക ബാങ്ക് വസൂലാക്കി. ഇത് ഒന്നര ലക്ഷത്തോളം വരുമെന്നോര്‍ക്കുക. 2007 ജൂലൈ 10ന് ബാങ്ക് ഈ മുറി 10,10,001 രൂപക്ക് വിറ്റു.

ഇതിനിടെ ശോഭനയുടെ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് തമ്പിരാജന്‍ മരണപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. ശോഭനയുടെ മൂന്ന് കുട്ടികളുള്ളതില്‍ ഒരാള്‍ ബുദ്ധിമാന്ദ്യമുള്ളയാളും മറ്റൊരാള്‍ മാനസിക വൈകല്യമുള്ളയാളുമാണ്. അടക്കാനുള്ള തുക കഴിച്ച് ബാക്കി തനിക്ക് നല്‍കണമെന്ന് അവര്‍ ബാങ്കിനോടാവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു; അവര്‍ കനിഞ്ഞില്ല. ശോഭന ഹൈകോടതിയെ സമീപിച്ചു. ഈ കെട്ടിടം മാത്രമാണ് തങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതവരുമാനമെന്നും ബാക്കി തുക നല്‍കണമെന്നും അവര്‍ ഹരജിയില്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. 2012 ജൂലൈയില്‍ ഇടക്കാല ഉത്തരവില്‍ ഹരജിക്കാരോട് സഹതാപപൂര്‍ണമായ സമീപനം സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍ കോടതി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. എന്നാല്‍, ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ് യോഗം ചേര്‍ന്ന് പണം തിരികെ നല്‍കാനാവില്ലെന്ന നിലപാട് സ്വീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

ജസ്റ്റിസുമാരായ സി.എന്‍. രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ നായര്‍, പി.എസ്. ഗോപിനാഥന്‍ എന്നിവരടങ്ങുന്ന ഡിവിഷന്‍ ബെഞ്ച് ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച കേസിന്‍െറ അന്തിമവിധി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

Dear all,


Stop arguing over such things. It was faith which made you think that you will live up to read the reply for this message. Anything can happen anytime. You can die now, while reading this or tomorrow on the way to somewhere, the point is this that you may not even live up to the worlds end even if its in a weeks time or even an hour ! life is so simple and straight and its not in our hands.

So, pray hard, make memories, help others and enjoy your moments well.

and remember this ' you will die one day thats for sure & you cant stop that anyway but by then do some good stuffs for the needy ones, atleast your soul may RIP '
