Dear All,
 
We all know that there are lots of qualifications required for a CEO or head of the organization to runs it successfully.  It includes academic qualifications, experience, management skills, leadership skills etc.  However, no qualifications are required to lead a government department / corporation!  Any politicians who won in the election are becoming the head of government department and he is directing / controlling the section even though he doesn't have any skills to handle it. What an irony! This is the drawback of our democracy and it is generally reflecting in all government departments and particularly in KSTRC. You cannot find any 'KSRTC employee' in KSRTC.  Instead you will find a group of selfish trade union members from all political parties working together to get merely their pay and perks. They are not committed to the government or the public.   Mr. Ganesh Kumar was the only one transport minister who took initiative to improve the situation and he had succeeded partially.

Some 40 years back while I was in college, there was a debate on how to make this white elephant profitable. My suggestions is still applicable.
 
KSRTC should divided into three divisions. Bus operation i.e. long routs and local routs, Workshop. All these three divisions should be independent and profit centres. Govt. should concentrate on long routes only. Local routes and buses should be treated as private bus owners. Let the employees   the owners. Govt. should charge a nominal amount these group for the facilities.
 
Once the employees the owners they will work hard.

Years back when Mr(Late) Malayatoor Ramakrishnan IAS took charge of our KSRTC he tried to bring to profit making. But he couldnt do that though he was able to reduce the loss and make this White elephant a people friendly. Many IAS and politicians have commented in private that one of the reasons for its loss is the number of unions it has. I remember KSRTC has got 14 unions and none of them see eye to eye.
Mr B.Ganesh as minister also tried to bring this service to profit and he was partially successfull it seeems.
If there is an earnest effort, KSRTC can earn profit.

If KSRTC stops all Mal practices they will run in profit. Proper Mainetance of buses . Plying in profitable routes. Stppping buses at stops, Taking stern action & recovery against those damaging buses

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഡീസല്‍ വില നിയന്ത്രണം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞതോടെ വിലയിലുണ്ടായ ഉയര്‍ച്ച കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്കു കനത്ത തിരിച്ചടിയാകുന്നു. വന്‍കിട ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോക്താക്കളുടെ പട്ടികയില്‍ എണ്ണ കമ്പനികള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്കു ഡീസല്‍ വിലയില്‍ ലിറ്ററിനു 11.53 രൂപയുടെ വര്‍ധനയാണുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതോടെ ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ ഡീസലിനു കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി 60.25 രൂപ നല്‍കണം. ഇതു കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ പ്രതിമാസം 15 കോടി രൂപയുടെ അധിക ബാധ്യതയിലാണ് എത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. എണ്ണവില വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് എണ്ണ കമ്പനികളുടെ അറിയിപ്പ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു. വന്‍തോതില്‍ ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള രാജ്യത്തെ പൊതു ഗതാഗത മേഖല യഥാര്‍ഥ വിപണി വില നല്‍കണമെന്നാണ് പെട്രോളിയം മന്ത്രാലത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം. ഡീസല്‍ വില നിയന്ത്രണം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞ കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി സഭാ യോഗത്തിലാണ് ഈ സുപ്രധാന തീരുമാനമുണ്ടായത്. ഇതു കൂടാതെ ബള്‍ക്കായി ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങുന്ന റെയില്‍വേയും വന്‍കിട വ്യവസായ ശാലകളും യഥാര്‍ഥ വിപണി വില നല്‍കി വേണം ഇനി മുതല്‍ ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങേണ്ടത്. എന്നാല്‍ സ്വകാര്യ ബസുകള്‍ക്ക് വെറും 45 പൈസയുടെ വര്‍ധന മാത്രമാണുള്ളത്. ഈ നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധന പ്രതിമാസം കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ 15 കോടി രൂപയുടെ അധിക ബാധ്യതയില്‍ എത്തിക്കും. ഇതു നിലവില്‍ വലിയ നഷ്ടത്തില്‍ സര്‍വീസ് തുടരുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രതിസന്ധിയാക്കും. നാലു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ഡീസലാണ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിക്കു വേണ്ടിവരുന്നത്. 30 കോടി രൂപയാണ് ഒരു മാസം കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയില്‍ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്കു ശമ്പളം കൊടുക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടത്. ഇതുള്‍പ്പെടെ സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന 60 കോടി രൂപയുടെ ഗ്രാന്റ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി മുന്നോട്ടുപോകുന്നത്. ഇതേസമയം, ട്രാന്‍സ്പോര്‍ട്ട് കോര്‍പ്പറേഷനേക്കാള്‍ റെയില്‍വേയെ ആയിരിക്കും ഇതു ബാധിക്കുക. താരതമ്യേന നിരക്ക് കുറവുള്ള, സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ട്രെയിന്‍ സര്‍വീസിനെ ഈ വന്‍നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധന മോശമായി ബാധിക്കും. റെയില്‍വേയില്‍ മൂന്നില്‍ രണ്ടു ട്രെയിനുകളും ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തുന്നത്. പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം റെയില്‍വേയ്ക്കു 240 കോടി ലിറ്റര്‍ ഡീസലാണ് വേണ്ടത്. ഇതു ട്രെയിന്‍ നിരക്കിലും വര്‍ധനയ്ക്കു ഇടയാക്കും. ഇതേസമയം തന്നെ, മൊബൈല്‍ കമ്പനികളും വലിയ പ്രതിസന്ധി അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കേണ്ടിവരും. കാരണം ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് രാജ്യത്തെ മൊബൈല്‍ ടവറുകള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതു തന്നെ. ഇവരും പെട്രോളിയം മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ വന്‍കിട ഡീസല്‍ ഉപഭോക്താക്കളുടെ പട്ടികയില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടും.

what you still sending from here via cargo. Everything available in India now may be better quality and less cost. If you going exit then it is understandable you have to send some personal belongings  otherwise what??. Most of the airlines giving you 40-50 Kg baggage allowance, what you have more than this to send every year to India? I saw one guy last month before one day of his departure he sent 15 Kg via cargo service because his luggage was excess this weight. I surprised to see the contents. It is 3 Kg Tide detergent, Two packet 1.800 Kg Nido, and Tang power and some chocolate. etc. which may cost around 200 SR and he have to pay cargo charge around 175 SR. I told him please give back Nido, Tide, Tang to the shop back or to any of your friends and take the chocolate with you in a bag out from luggage, keep the money and luggage charge with you then go to any duty free shop  to get these items which will give you at least 100 SR saving. He calculated, understood and did so.

So, please think before doing. Keep in mind that you cannot satisfy all others when you reaching home in a vacation the main thing is your satisfaction.

I am also facing same situation. I send 81 Kg (4 Packet) cargo through ABRA CARGO, BATHA, RIYADH ON 15-08-2012.  Three packets I received after one month. But still remaining One Cartoon (that is expensive item) . Now they are telling If possible we are  delver  within 3 month otherwise we are not responsible for above packet. If you want we are giving  cargo charges.

In 2011 March, I had sent cargo to Kerala through ABC cargo, Riyadh. It landed my home in 12 days. Also, there was no special charges towards road transportation when the cargo was delivered.
This is my experience. I just shared it with you.
Maybe their services were good at that time or it was a matter of sheer luck.
Anyway, I plan to send cargo this year tooo.
But I will think twice before I use ABC's services

Never use the ABC Cargo Service for sending your cargo to India.. They are the biggest cheaters.. they never keep their promise... They catch business through very big offers and discounts and wide advertisements... These promotions are also biggest fraud.

I sent one cargo from Saudi Arabia... to India.. they told me though we may say 15 days, we will deliver your cargo within 10 days... and u can track the cargo also....

Just out of curiosity I checked the net the next day.. it showed my cargo is in Riyadh heading for loading to the carrier...whereas my cargo was still in Jeddah with ABC in Sharafiya waiting for packing... not to say more I received the cargo after 28 days.. that too after so many calls from KSA and India..... and when they brought cargo for delivery they asked @ Rs. 100 per box from my family towards road transport.  This is ABC Cargo Service.... Isn't the best in the Middle East... as they claim.

After this incident,  I sent cargo 4 times to India through best cargo agency; all I received before the time offered....  I will never ever use ABC Cargo again.

And one of my friends sent his cargo with ABC Cargo... but still after 4 months he did not receive his cargo...for the same destination....

So,  pls advice any of your friends who is sending cargo to India to use any other agencies.

I would lke to share my experience with a cargo company  Easy Express Cargo in Dubai.
 
I had consigned my cargo of house hold items, including electronics,  by air thru  Easy Express Cargo, Karama, Dubai. We were promised to deliver the cargo at our residence in Kerala in a weeks time.  We had planned our annual leave also correspondingly.  However, the cargo was reached at my door after 40 days, that too in a damaged condition.  We underwent a lot of inconvenience and had even changed our leave programme to suit his delivery schedule.  We were gettng flase promises from their agent in kerala and finlly we found that the cargo has come by sea at a every cheap tarriff.  We could not recover a single fils from the cargo company as he stopped taking our phone calls and even his office behind Ministry of Health was remain closed whenever we try to track him.
 
I would suggest Mr. Khan to get the documents to ensure that the cargo has been consigned and then he could track the goods.

കെ എസ് ആര്‍ ടി സി, റയില്‍വെ തുടങ്ങിയ പൊതുമേഖലാ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ ഗവര്‍മെന്റിനെ സഹായവും സബ്സിഡിയും സഹായ പാക്കേജുകളും ചാര്‍ജ് വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കലും ഒക്കെ കുറച്ചു മാത്രമേ നടക്കൂ. ഈ അവസ്ഥയില്‍ നിന്ന് കെ.എസ. ആര്‍ ടി.സി യെ എന്നല്ല റെയില്‍വേ യെയും ഏലക്ട്രിട്രിസിറ്റി അങ്ങിനെ ഉള്ള വലിയ ഉപയോക്താക്കള്‍ക്ക്‌ രക്ഷപ്പെടാനും അതിലൂടെ എണ്ണ കമ്പനികളായ കോര്പോരറ്റ് കളെ പാവങ്ങളുടെ ചോര ഊറ്റി ക്കുടിച്ചു വീര്‍ക്കാന്‍ സമ്മതിക്കതിരിക്കാനും അവരെ അടക്കി നിര്‍ത്താനും അവരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ നിന്ന് കാശ്വാങ്ങി അവര്‍ക്ക് ഓശാന പാടുന്ന മന്ത്രിമാരെ നിലക്ക് നിരുത്താനും ഒരൊറ്റ വഴിയെ ഉള്ളൂ. അതെന്തെന്നാല്‍, അങ്ങിനെ ഉള്ള ഉപഭോക്താക്കള്‍ക്ക് നേരിട്ട് ഡ്യൂട്ടി ഇല്ലാതെ സംസ്കരിച്ച ദീസെല്‌ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്യാന്‍ അനുവതിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. അതല്ലെങ്കില്‍ അസംസ്കൃത എണ്ണ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്തു എല്ലാവരും കൂടി ഒരു റിഫൈനറി സ്ഥാപിച്ചു (അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഒന്ന് വാടകക്കെടുത്തു) സംസ്കരിച്ചു വേണ്ടത് ഉപയോഗിക്കാം, മിച്ചം ഉള്ളത് ഡ്യൂട്ടി അടച്ചു പുറത്തേക്കു വില്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാം. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ആരും ഒന്നും ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്തു കാണുന്നില്ല, എന്താ ആ വഴിക്ക് ചിന്തിക്കാത്തത്. കോര്പോരറ്റ് കളുടെ എതിര്‍പ്പും പിന്നെ ലൈസെന്‍സ് കിട്ടാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് ഓശാന പാടുന്ന ഗവര്‍മെന്റില്‍ നിന്ന് ഉള്ള തടസ്സവും അല്ലാതെ. അങ്ങിനെ ആണെങ്കില്‍ കോടതിയിലൂടെ അനുവാതം വങ്ങേണ്ടി വരും. വാങ്ങാന്‍ തീരുമാനമായാല്‍ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ട് വന്നു താരാന്‍ ആളുണ്ട്. അതും ലോകത്തിലേറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ വിലക്ക്.

Some 40 years back while I was in college, there was a debate on how to make this white elephant profitable. My suggestions is still applicable.
 
KSRTC should divided into three divisions. Bus operation i.e. long routs and local routs, Workshop. All these three divisions should be independent and profit centres. Govt. should concentrate on long routes only. Local routes and buses should be treated as private bus owners. Let the employees   the owners. Govt. should charge a nominal amount these group for the facilities.
 
Once the employees the owners they will work hard.

Years back when Mr(Late) Malayatoor Ramakrishnan IAS took charge of our KSRTC he tried to bring to profit making. But he couldnt do that though he was able to reduce the loss and make this White elephant a people friendly. Many IAS and politicians have commented in private that one of the reasons for its loss is the number of unions it has. I remember KSRTC has got 14 unions and none of them see eye to eye.
Mr B.Ganesh as minister also tried to bring this service to profit and he was partially successfull it seeems.
If there is an earnest effort, KSRTC can earn profit.

If KSRTC stops all Mal practices they will run in profit. Proper Mainetance of buses . Plying in profitable routes. Stppping buses at stops, Taking stern action & recovery against those damaging buses

ഡീസല്‍ വില വര്‍ധന: കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്കു വന്‍ തിരിച്ചടി

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഡീസല്‍ വില നിയന്ത്രണം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞതോടെ വിലയിലുണ്ടായ ഉയര്‍ച്ച കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്കു കനത്ത തിരിച്ചടിയാകുന്നു. വന്‍കിട ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോക്താക്കളുടെ പട്ടികയില്‍ എണ്ണ കമ്പനികള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്കു ഡീസല്‍ വിലയില്‍ ലിറ്ററിനു 11.53 രൂപയുടെ വര്‍ധനയാണുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതോടെ ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ ഡീസലിനു കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി 60.25 രൂപ നല്‍കണം. ഇതു കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ പ്രതിമാസം 15 കോടി രൂപയുടെ അധിക ബാധ്യതയിലാണ് എത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. എണ്ണവില വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് എണ്ണ കമ്പനികളുടെ അറിയിപ്പ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു. വന്‍തോതില്‍ ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള രാജ്യത്തെ പൊതു ഗതാഗത മേഖല യഥാര്‍ഥ വിപണി വില നല്‍കണമെന്നാണ് പെട്രോളിയം മന്ത്രാലത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം. ഡീസല്‍ വില നിയന്ത്രണം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞ കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി സഭാ യോഗത്തിലാണ് ഈ സുപ്രധാന തീരുമാനമുണ്ടായത്. ഇതു കൂടാതെ ബള്‍ക്കായി ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങുന്ന റെയില്‍വേയും വന്‍കിട വ്യവസായ ശാലകളും യഥാര്‍ഥ വിപണി വില നല്‍കി വേണം ഇനി മുതല്‍ ഡീസല്‍ വാങ്ങേണ്ടത്. എന്നാല്‍ സ്വകാര്യ ബസുകള്‍ക്ക് വെറും 45 പൈസയുടെ വര്‍ധന മാത്രമാണുള്ളത്. ഈ നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധന പ്രതിമാസം കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ 15 കോടി രൂപയുടെ അധിക ബാധ്യതയില്‍ എത്തിക്കും. ഇതു നിലവില്‍ വലിയ നഷ്ടത്തില്‍ സര്‍വീസ് തുടരുന്ന കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയെ കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രതിസന്ധിയാക്കും. നാലു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ഡീസലാണ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിക്കു വേണ്ടിവരുന്നത്. 30 കോടി രൂപയാണ് ഒരു മാസം കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസിയില്‍ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്കു ശമ്പളം കൊടുക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടത്. ഇതുള്‍പ്പെടെ സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന 60 കോടി രൂപയുടെ ഗ്രാന്റ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് കെഎസ്ആര്‍ടിസി മുന്നോട്ടുപോകുന്നത്. ഇതേസമയം, ട്രാന്‍സ്പോര്‍ട്ട് കോര്‍പ്പറേഷനേക്കാള്‍ റെയില്‍വേയെ ആയിരിക്കും ഇതു ബാധിക്കുക. താരതമ്യേന നിരക്ക് കുറവുള്ള, സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ട്രെയിന്‍ സര്‍വീസിനെ ഈ വന്‍നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധന മോശമായി ബാധിക്കും. റെയില്‍വേയില്‍ മൂന്നില്‍ രണ്ടു ട്രെയിനുകളും ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തുന്നത്. പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം റെയില്‍വേയ്ക്കു 240 കോടി ലിറ്റര്‍ ഡീസലാണ് വേണ്ടത്. ഇതു ട്രെയിന്‍ നിരക്കിലും വര്‍ധനയ്ക്കു ഇടയാക്കും. ഇതേസമയം തന്നെ, മൊബൈല്‍ കമ്പനികളും വലിയ പ്രതിസന്ധി അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കേണ്ടിവരും. കാരണം ഡീസല്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് രാജ്യത്തെ മൊബൈല്‍ ടവറുകള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതു തന്നെ. ഇവരും പെട്രോളിയം മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ വന്‍കിട ഡീസല്‍ ഉപഭോക്താക്കളുടെ പട്ടികയില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടും.
