It seems you see only what you want to see.
North India in general seems to have suffered under the emergency. But in the five South Indian states it was accepted and the Congress returned to power with higher majorities in the S.Indian states. However in North India Sanjay Gandhi and his goons played spoilsport and Indira Gandhi lost the next election. But all along the press had opposed the emrgency. So there is no point in blaming the press vis-a-vis the emergency. But you seem to have other ideas. You seem to think that the press is right only if it dances to your tunes.
After the emergency a buffoon ministry came to power with the likes of charan singh and Raj Narain making a mockery of democracy. Ever since people elect the congress when they are fed up with the opposition and they elect others when they get fed up with the congress.
Now Modi is in power because the opposition is divided. The BJP is now the biggest party. But it is going the way the congress did and it is a matter of time before the BJP will also find itself in the same straights as the congress with no majority of its own.
So sooner than later the regional parties are going to call the shots and the Congress and the BJP will find themselves sidelined. And your daily round of ranting and raving is not going to make a difference.

_*42nd amendment added the words "Secular" and "Socialist" to the Constitution!
The current political dispensation is hauled over coals even when it follows the the correct procedure to enact laws, when no opposition leader is jailed, when debate is allowed within & outside the Parliament. Media and others are free to comment and criticise the acts of the government.
Yet, all those who are the drum beaters of secularism don't have the intellectual honesty to opine that the addition of the words "Secular" and "Socialist" to the preamble of our Constitution was through a defacto illegal parliament!
And these same defenders of secularism accuse the current government of being fascists! Height of hypocracy!
If the Modi government emulates Indira Gandhi and removes the words "Secular" and "Socialist", after jailing the complete opposition will all those who are defending secularism, defend Modi's action?
After all, those words were added when there was virtual dictatorship in India!
I request all of my friends to share this great narrative particularly with younger generation because none of the Indians below the age of 42 were not even born when this fraud on Indian constitution was committed!
Naturally they don't know this historical blunder committed by Congress on us!
