Villagers dig 270 ponds to store rain water in Madhya Pradesh

surprisingly not a single rupee of zila panchayat has been spent on this project.


More than 270 ponds have been dug deeper by more than 18,000 villagers in less than 45 days. And villagers say they are ready to store the monsoon bounty.




Panchpala, a pond spread across Hasalpur is brimming over once again. And as the name suggests, the water body straddles five villages. "This is one of the largest ponds in the area and continuous water availability means there would be no crisis in all five villages.
