In my opinion PPF Acct is initially for a period of 15 yrs and extendable twice for a period of 5 yrs each. This means you can renew your account for a further period of 5 yrs. Please write to your bank informing them that you intend to extend for another term of 5 yrs.
Dear Group friends,
I am a senior citizen and am maintaining a PPF account, now it has completed 20 years (31 march 2016). Today being the first day of the financial year, (1st April 2016), I was trying to transfer the subscription "online".
However, the system did not accept my subscription amount stating the reason that, my account matured and no further deposit is accepted.Any one of you know about this 20 years period for PPF ?? Can I keep the account active and receive annual interest regularly or do I need to close this account ??
Appreciate your valuable guidance please.
