[www.keralites.net] Forget hangovers: North Korea invents drink that doesn't leave you tipsy the next day

Weeks after claiming to have successfully tested a hydrogen bomb, scientists in North Korea have now said that they have invented an alcoholic drink that will leave you with no hangover.

According to the North Korean media reports, scientists had been working on this project for several years now. Koryo Liquor, which contains 30-40 per cent alcohol, was a breakthrough that the scientists managed after a very long time.

Sugar and rice play a vital role as an ingredient in the manufacturing of  bigger brands of liquor. Koryo, on the other hand, is made from a type of indigenous ginseng called insam and glutinous rice. Replacing sugar with the scorched, glutinous rice removed the bitterness from the insam and, crucially, the hangover.

The natural herb being used as an ingredient in this drink also has medical properties. The glutinous rice used in its making is also cultivated organically in the country.

Besides being awarded, the drink has also been highly appreciated by experts and lovers, said a North Korean newspaper.

This hangover-free alcohol is the latest in these series of innovations that the country's researchers have come up with.
