Narad muni was a saint who was always on the move. He only brought News to God about goings on in God's world.
There was an old 85 year old women who lived a miserable existence being a hunchback suffering from other usual old age ailments. Her young granddaughter took care of all her needs. Unfortunately, one day, granddaughter died of snake bite. Old women was left alone with no one to look after her.
Totally dejected, Narad muni went to meet God in a very agitated mood. He told God that he has been very unfair to the old women who, now, had none to look after her. He requested God to do something. God told him that what has been done, cannot be undone. "However, I can make her all right to look after herself. You go and tell her that I have sanctioned one boon for her. Let her ask for it and it shall be done".
As instructed, Narad muni went to the old women and told her about God's sanction of boon by which she will be all right and can look after herself. Old lady, after thinking awhile, tells Narad muni "Maharaj, both you and God are very kind to me for this boon. But see, I am very old now and might live only a short while. I will, somehow, manage with my infirmities and miseries. But, since God has sanctioned the boon to me, I would like to utilize it. There are four more old women of my age in this village but they are enjoying good health and moving about. PLEASE MAKE THEM ALSO LIKE ME."
Though the story is imaginary but is very close to present day realities of life. People are not happy with what they have, but are unhappy why others have something more. The kind of envy, hatred, jealousy, selfishness, up-man-ship is eating away our inner core, joy Happiness like moth eats wood. We Undervalue what we have but Overvalue what others have.
IT IS MORE IMPORTANT IN LIFE TO GIVE THAN TO GET.
ENRICHING OTHERS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN BUILDING A PLATFORM ONLY FOR YOURSELF.
Forget Society's view of Success based on Money outward appearance.
Endeavour to create your own DEFINITION OF SUCCESS based on such Humane Qualities - KINDNESS, LOVE, INTEGRITY, FORGIVENESS, TOLERANCE, GRATITUDE, ALTRUISM.\
