Ten-year-old Girish Sharma becomes Jaipur police commissioner for a day

Jaipur,1st May: Ten-year-old Girish Sharma wanted to be police commissioner and his dream came true on Thursday when he was made Jaipur Police Commissioner for a day.
"A social organisation – Make-a-wish foundation – told us about the boy, who suffers a serious kidney ailment. He wants to become a police officer. The organisation requested to make him feel like a CP for a day. The wish was fulfilled today," Police Commissioner Janga Srinivas Rao said.
Clad in an IPS officer's uniform, Girish took "salute" from police officers while entering the chamber and sat in the chair of the CP where he signed some documents too, he said.
Police personnel gave guard of honour to him, he said, adding that he visited a local police station to know about the functioning of police.
Girish, who belongs to Haryana and was admitted to a hospital for some time, said that he wanted to become a police officer.
"It felt nice. I want to catch thieves because they do wrong to the society," the 3rd standard student said.
"We work to fulfil wishes of children who are suffering from serious illness. This gives joy to the child and their parents and also helps in treatment," Smita Shah, coordinator of Make-a-wish foundation said.
