Madurai -500 Facebook Friends Make Blood Donations to Physically Challenged :- MADURAI: For around 500 Facebook friends, who met on Sunday at a marriage hall in Madurai, the intention was not only to have a gala time but also about philanthropy. A blood donation camp was organised and donations were made to physically challenged people and old age homes.
The blood donation camp was organised in another marriage hall and saw around 52 members donating blood. while donations in form of money and material were provided to physically challenged persons and elderly who are in need.
Similarly, a refrigerator was provided to an old age home by three Facebook members who go by the pseudonyms 'Thimiru Pidichavan (hot-headed)', 'Adhigam Padikathavan (not-so-educated)' and 'Natpudan Senthil (With Affection, Senthil)'.
Members of Facebook groups run by men in places like Tiruchy and Madurai also made appeals to their Facebook friends to contribute for the philanthropic activities they have been doing.
