[www.keralites.net] request for zakath

One of the most important principles of Islam is that all things belong to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust.

The word Zakat means both 'purification' and 'growth'. Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth.

Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people.

This category of people is defined in surah at-Taubah (9) verse 60: "The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is knower, Wise." (The Holy Qur'an 9:60).

To whom we can provide Zakah

Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

My beloved friends!
Assalamu Alaikkum!

My happy lovable Ramadan wishes to all our muslim brothers.

Through this internet media, I wanted to create zakath AWARENESS among our muslim brothers thru gmail and yahoo groups and I have won in my attempt to some extend. 7 years have been rolled since I have started my DAWA works.

I have been collecting money from my muslim friends and brothers and been disbursing to the needy and deserving muslim poor people.
When looking mercifully around us I have seen 22 families deserve for our help. They are leading their life below their poverty line. Each family
has no male earning member and faces the life challenges by closing their doors with starvation.

I sometime go to the houses of these poor people do the help to the needy people. Most of the girls in these houses left the school because of poverty.

Helping the poor around us is better than donating money to build Matharasa and Mosque. Feeding the needy is feeding the God.

So I honestly request you all- the good hearted people to donate to help the deserving poor.

The money will be distributed among the Muslim poors to celebrate their ramadan or continue their education or meet day to day expenses to lead their life with simple food.

The approximate expences to continue their education in colleges will be round about Rs 7000 to 10000 and the high school expences will be Rs2200 to 2500.per student .TheRamadan expences go around Rs5000 per family.

I assure you beloved brothers every money you donate will go to the needy only. It is my religious duty and will be very firm in executing this duty .
My only wish is to create Zakath Awareness among our community and help the muslims who deserve for Zakath
I have herewith enclosed my bank a/c no to which Zakath may be sent.
