Use toilet paper rolls to make biodegradable planters   Use the leftover store-bought cuttings to plant basil.       Make seed tapes out of toilet paper.   Add baking soda to home-grown tomato plants and make the fruit less tart.     Keep your tools in building sand and keep them from rusting.     Test your old seeds on paper before planting them.     Diapers can be used to retain moisture in a planter.         You can keep your hydrangeas perky with alum.       Use beer to kill slugs. Use broken pots by turning them into plant markers. Even seed packets can be used to remember what you planted. Why buy a trellis when you can use zip ties and bamboo poles to make one?     Plants can be swapped seasonally by planting them in their pots.
