A very pertinent point ,Sir!  v serious threat could be in the offing for two to three districts and the media, the politicians etc continue to waste their energy in Solar! we all know also that , finally the culprits in the deal are going to go scot free except may be for a small fish!We have seen the Bofors, 2G, helicopter, armament deals.
Important issues like the Mullaperiyaar should not be allowed to be put on the back burners

One should be grateful to the learned Supreme Court for raising a fundamental question on the locus of Tamizh Nadu in the agreement. Why Kerala did not raise this issue would perhaps be more worthy of being looked into than the sordid solar saga.
Unfortnately, our " breaking news" obscessed media are not interested, probably because no scandal is smelled.
A matter regarding lives of lakhs of people and the very existence of a few districts of Kerala is ignored totally.

ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാര്‍ ഡാം തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തമെന്ന് തമിഴ്‌നാട്. മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാര്‍ കേസില്‍ സുപ്രീംകോടതിയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന അന്തിമവാദത്തിനിടെയാണ് തമിഴ്‌നാട് ഡാമിന് മേല്‍ പൂര്‍ണഅവകാശം ഉന്നയിച്ചത്.

അണക്കെട്ടുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കരാര്‍ റദ്ദാക്കാന്‍ കേരളം തീരുമാനിച്ചാല്‍ എന്തുചെയ്യുമെന്ന് സുപ്രീംകോടതി ചോദിച്ചപ്പോഴായിരുന്നു അണക്കെട്ടില്‍ കേരളത്തിന് എന്തവകാശമെന്ന് തമിഴ്‌നാട് ചോദിച്ചത്. ഡാം തങ്ങളുടേതാണെന്നും തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ അഭിഭാഷകന്‍ മറുപടി നല്‍കി.

മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാറില്‍ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ള ഡാമിന് പകരം ആവശ്യമെങ്കില്‍ പുതിയ അണക്കെട്ട് നിര്‍മ്മിക്കാമെന്നും തമിഴ്‌നാട് ഇന്ന് നിലപാടെടുത്തു. വേണമെങ്കില്‍ പുതിയ ഡാം ആകാം എന്ന നിലപാട് ആദ്യമായാണ് തമിഴ്‌നാട് സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ നിലവിലുള്ള അണക്കെട്ട് സുരക്ഷിതമായതിനാല്‍ പുതിയ ഡാം പണിയേണ്ടതില്ലെന്ന് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ വാദം.

പുതിയ അണക്കെട്ട് നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ അത് തമിഴ്‌നാട് സ്വന്തം ചിലവില്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കും. പുതിയ ഡാം പണിയാന്‍ കേരളത്തെ അനുവദിക്കില്ല. അണക്കെട്ടിലെ ജലനിരപ്പ് 136 അടിയായി നിജപ്പെടുത്തി കേരളം നിയമം പാസാക്കിയത് ഭരണഘടന ലംഘനമാണെന്നായിരുന്നു തമിഴ്‌നാട് വാദിച്ചത്.

നിലവിലെ ഡാം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് താഴെയായി 1000 കോടി രൂപ ചിലവിട്ട് പുതിയ അണക്കെട്ട് നിര്‍മ്മിക്കാമെന്നും, അവിടെ ജലനിരപ്പ് 136 അടിയായി നിലനിര്‍ത്തി ഇപ്പോള്‍ തമിഴ്‌നാടിന് നല്‍കിവരുന്ന വെള്ളം തുടര്‍ന്നും നല്‍കാമെന്നുമാണ് കേരളം സുപ്രീംകോടതിയില്‍ രേഖാമൂലം അറിയിച്ചത്.

ഇത് കോടതി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയപ്പോഴാണ് ഡാമില്‍ കേരളത്തിന് എന്തവകാശമെന്നും വേണ്ടിവന്നാല്‍ തങ്ങള്‍ തന്നെ പുതിയ ഡാം നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുമെന്ന് തമിഴ്‌നാട് അറിയിച്ചത്. തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ വാദമാണ് സുപ്രീംകോടതിയില്‍ മൂന്നുദിവസമായി നടക്കുന്നത്. ഇന്നത്തോടെ തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ വാദം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി.
