Filipino Man Crucified For 27th Time Takes Good Friday Pretty Seriously

To many around the world, Good Friday is the start of a three-day weekend or a bitchin' Black Crowes song. To strict devotees in the Philippines' Pampanga province, it's a chance to reenact crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Penitents, for family luck or for good vibes for the coming year, actually get nailed to a cross under the burning sun. At least 16 people were crucified.

AP: "Filipino penitent Ruben Enaje, who has portrayed as Jesus Christ for 27 times, reacts as a nail is removed from his hand after being crucified during Good Friday rituals on March 29, 2013 at Cutud, Pampanga province, northern Philippines. Several Filipino devotees had themselves nailed to crosses Friday to remember Jesus Christ's suffering and death, an annual rite rejected by church leaders in this predominantly Roman Catholic country."
