Study finds human speech evolved from birdsong!
The sounds uttered by birds offer in several respects the nearest analogy to language, Charles Darwin wrote in the Descent of Man, while contemplating how human learned to speak. Language, he speculated, might have had its origins in singing, which "might have given rise to words expressive of various complex emotions.'
Now researchers from MIT say that Darwin was on the right path. The balance of evidence suggests that human language is a grafting of two communications forms found elsewhere in the animal kingdom: the elaborate songs of birds, and the more utilitarian, information-bearing types of expression seen in a diversity of other animals. 'It's this adventitious combination that triggered human language'.

Beijing: A homebuyer spent Rs.60 lakhs doing up an apartment – before learning the place he'd bought was the empty shell across the hall. Gui Lizhong was sold flat number 4-2 in a new development in Chongqing, China before the numbers were on the doors. He only realized he had mistakenly decorated 4-1 when the real owner Long Nengyun turned up and produced paperwork showing he was the owner. Any hope the unfortunate man could keep his new apartment were dashed after Long refused to exchange the homes.
