ഫിലിപ്പീന്‍സിലെ ചുഴലിക്കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ്

മനില: ഫിലിപ്പീന്‍സില്‍ നാശംവിതച്ച ബോഭ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിലും പേമാരിയിലും മരിച്ചവരുടെ സംഖ്യ 200 കവിഞ്ഞു. നൂറുകണക്കിനാളുകളെ കാണാതായിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും, സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളെ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച് വാര്‍ത്താഏജന്‍സി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തു. വന്‍പ്രഹരശേഷിയുള്ള ബോഭ ചുഴലിക്കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് വടക്കന്‍ പലവാന്‍ മേഖലയിലാണ് ബുധനാഴ്ച കരയ്ക്കണഞ്ഞത്. 40,000 പേരെ അതിനകം താത്ക്കാലിക അഭയസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയിരുന്നു. കനത്ത മഴയും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലും മൂലം പലയിടത്തും വൈദ്യുതിബന്ധം നഷ്ടമായി. ഗതാഗതവും തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. മിക്കയിടവും വെള്ളത്തിനിടിയിലാണ്. മണ്ണിടിച്ചില്‍ പലകെട്ടിടങ്ങളും വീടുകളും തകര്‍ന്നു. ഖനന പ്രവശ്യയായ കോംപോസ്ടല താഴ് വരയിലാണ് ബോഭ ചുഴലി കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് കനത്ത നാശനഷ്ടം വിതച്ചത്. മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 210 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വേഗത്തിലാണ് കാറ്റ് വീശുന്നത്. വ്യാഴാഴ്ചയോടെ ചുഴലിക്കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് തെക്കന്‍ ചൈനക്കടലിലേക്ക് എത്തുമെന്നാണ് പ്രവചനം. ഈവര്‍ഷം രാജ്യം നേരിട്ട ഏറ്റവും ശക്തമായ ചുഴലിക്കൊടുങ്കാറ്റാണ് ബോഭ.
