The effort to save any remaining earthquake victims continues around the clock in the eastern province of Van in Turkey after an earthquake reduced many of its buildings to rubble on Sunday, Oct. 23. A two-week old baby girl, her mother and grandmother were rescued in Ercis on Tuesday, but most teams are finding only bodies among the ruins. An additional 1,650 people were injured by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Sunday, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Relief Agency.
The developments came as there were reports of a moderate earthquake in the country's south.A 5.2 earthquake hit about 200 kilometers (125 miles) south of Sunday's quake, near the border with Iraq, the US Geological Survey reported.
There were no immediate reports of damage from that quake.Rescuers are still finding bodies in the rubble from Sunday's quake but they have also found survivors.
On Wednesday rescuers pulled two more people from collapsed buildings.So far 185 people have been rescued, the disaster agency said.
