In Kerala they were the Nairs, the Sudra class, who were in the forefront of all the violence on behalf of the higher classes as was seen at Sabarimala two years ago. For some strange reason there are only a handful of Kshatriyas in Kerala and no Vaisyas to speak of. So all the dirty work was done by the Nairs-Menon-Nambiar-Pillai classes. Kerala was ruled by the Hindu Kings of Cochin and Travancore and their armies and police were packed with the Nairs-Menon-Nambiar-Pillai classes. So all the atrocities on the lower castes were perpetrated by these classes on behalf of the higher castes. Even now there is unbridgeable animosity between the NSS representing the Nair classes and the organisations such as the SNDP representing the Ezhavas, the most populous of the Backward castes as well as between the NSS and the KPMS representing the Pulayas who form the most populous section of the scheduled castes.

As for Brahmins entering the fray, they did not have to do it as the Kshatriyas did all the fighting on behalf of the Brahmins. In fact all over the world the priestly classes seldom resorted to violence. Instead it was always done by the soldier classes no only in India but elsewhere also.

Violence does not have to be physical always. There is what is called structural violence which is violence built into the social system. Slavery and the Serf system were examples of such structural violence. The caste system was another of such examples of structural violence.

In the past societies were highly hierarchical and such systems of structural violence were universal almost all over the world. So we dont have to single out any society and blame them for their discriminatory policies towards slaves, serfs, Dalits, women and other weak sections of the past societies. But what the Sanghis do is they try to whitewash the atrocities of the Vedic system as is well described in the Manusmrithi, the Arthsasthra and other scriptures even as they highlight the atrocities committed by other sections of Indians such as the Muslims and Christians.

What I am trying to convey is that it is time we bury the past and work towards a common future which will benefit everyone. Confrontational politics based on religion is not an option for India. Our future lies in reconciliation and not in confrontation.

I do not know about the history of the Islamic kingdoms of India. But it is certain that the Muslims were in the Minority. Sanghis speak all the time about the massacre perpetrated by Tippu on the Hindus in his efforts to convert them. But even now the Muslim population in Mysore is hardly 22% which would not have been the case if Tippu had adopted violent methods for conversion. Similarly Akbar was a tolerant Muslim with many Pujaris and Hindu astrologers advising him.
The Portuguese attacked Bijapur which was then under Muslim rule. Why does not our Sanghi brag about it? The Portuguese were merely 1600 in numbers. The rest of the Portuguese army consisted mainly of Hindus. Why dont the Sanghis mention such instances of the Hindus siding with the invaders?
There were hardly 30000 English men in India and they ruled over 200 million Indians, most of them Hindus. How could they have done it without the connivance of the caste Hindus?
The Sepoy Mutiny was put down with the help of the Hindu Gurkhas for which they were rewarded more than generously.
Though the Jalianwala Bagh massacre was ordered by Gen Dyer they were the Hindu Gurkhas who went in and finished off the wounded with their Kukris.
In fact the British empire depended mostly on Hindu employees in administering the country - Muslims were averse to working under the British for religious reasons.
So History tells us that the caste Hindus aided the British in subduing the Indians and in keeping them subdued or we can say they hunted wholeheartedly with the hounds. Now their descendants the Sanghis are making up stories of how their ancestors ran with the hunted. In the process they are trying to hide the real history of India based on the barbarous exploitation of the low castes and the Dalits by the Brahmanical class and their pimps - yes in Kerala the Nairs were pimping off their women to the Brahmins until hardly a century ago.
You have glorified RANI ABBAKKA CHOWTA and her exploits. Do you think that the Portuguese were alone in attacking the Rani? There were plenty of Hindus on the Portuguese side as weell.

She was finally defeated by the Portuguese with the aid of her treacherous husband - a Hindu.
So my dear Dava Saran Sanghi please stop this nonsense of rewriting history to suit the Sanghi Agenda. The Sanghis have power in India not because the majority likes them but because of the incompetence of the congress and the opposition

The year was 1555. Portuguese colonial power was at its peak in the 1500's. They destroyed Zamorins of Calicut. Defeated the Sultan of Bijapur.

Took away Daman from the Sultan of Gujarat, Established a colony in Mylapore,

Captured Bombay and made Goa as their headquarters.

And while they were at it, pretty much unchallenged, they even ruined the ancient Kapaleeswarar Temple to build a Church over it.

Their next target, the super profitable port of Mangalore.

Their only bad luck, just 14 kilometers south of Mangalore was the small settlement of Ullal - ruled then by a feisty 30 year old woman - *RANI ABBAKKA CHOWTA*

Initially, they took her lightly and sent a few boats and soldiers to capture and bring her back to Goa - Those boats never came back.

Shocked and enraged, they sent a huge fleet of ships this time, under the command of much celebrated Admiral Dom Álvaro da Silveira - The admiral soon returned, badly injured and empty handed.

Thereafter, another Portuguese fleet was sent - only a few injured from the crew managed to make it back.

Then the Portuguese went on to capture the Mangalore port and the fort anyways, perhaps planning to tackle Rani Abbakka Chowta from the convenient distance of the Mangalore fort.

After the successful capture of Mangalore, a huge army under João Peixoto, an experienced Portuguese General was sent to Ullal.

The brief was simple: Subjugate Ullal and capture Abbakka Chowta.

The plan was foolproof- there was no way a 30 year old lady with a few men could withstand the might of an army of thousands with advanced weapons.

*The Portuguese reached Ullal and found it deserted. Abbakka was nowhere in sight.*

_*They roamed around, relaxed and thanked their stars - Just when they were about to call it a victory - Mrs Chowta attacked with 200 of her chosen men - there was chaos all around and many portuguese lost their lives even without a fight.*_

General João Peixoto was assassinated, 70 Portuguese were captured and the rest just ran away.

*So if you're Abbakka Chowta, who's just defeated a large army of aggressors, killed a general, captured fighters and defended her city - What will you do?*

*_Rani Abbakka Chowta, rode with her men towards Mangalore that same night, and laid a siege of the Mangalore fort - She not just broke inside the fort successfully - but assassinated Admiral Mascaren has the Chief of the Portuguese power there and forced the remaining Portuguese to vacate the fort.*_

She didn't just stop at this but went on to even capture the Portuguese settlement at Kundapura, a full 100 kms, north of Mangalore - Just to make a point.

The Portuguese finally managed to get back at Abbakka Chowta by *convincing her estranged husband, ( a traitor) to betray for money. * She was arrested and put in the prison where she revolted again and was killed while trying to escape.

*Lesson from story : It is the local Indians, who themselves are responsible for slavery of our nation for 1000 years by siding with Enemies.*

*Abbakka Chowta was a Jain who fought against the Portuguese for four decades, with an army comprising of both Hindus and Muslims, a full 300 years before the First War of Indian Independence in 1857.*

What did we Indians do to her, as a mark of our respect and gratitude? - We just forgot her.

We didn't name our girls after her. We didn't even teach her stories to our kids.

Yes we did release a Postal Stamp in her name, named a boat after her and erected 2 statues - yes just 2 statues in the whole of India for someone who should be our national hero.

The Indian Coast Guard ship ICGS Rani Abbakka the 1st of a series of five inshore patrol vessels built at Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is named after Abbakka Mahadevi.

We might have got to read a chapter about her in our text books, had she been a European or an American.

Many talk about her being the last Indian to have the power of the agni-ban. In all this cacophony, our generation has lost a great hero - a great source of inspiration.

No this is not a joke , it is a growing trend in Europe. Many donkey farms are established, in
Belgium, Greece, Italy, France,Turkey, etc. Asses' milk is used for dairy, cheese, soaps and
cosmetics, even in liqueurs. The average price of one liter of donkeys' milk is $19. In Italy donkeys
are milked or raised for meat . Some red Italian salami have young donkey meat.

The Telegraph reported that researchers at the University of Naples, Italy have found that
donkeys' milk is very nourishing because it contains more lactose and less fat than cow's milk.
It is high in calcium and helps reduce cholesterol and protect the heart because it contains
omega-3 fatty acids. The researchers also concluded that donkeys' milk is very similar to
woman's milk, and can be used in young children who are allergic to cow's dairy products.
The researchers, who presented their findings at the European Congress on
Obesity in Turkey, said its "consumption should be encouraged."
Donkey milk is a viable alternative for young children and infants in Italy .
Donkey's milk used to be a substitute to breast milk until the beginning of the twentieth century.
It is said that Cleopatra, Queen of Ancient Egypt, took baths in asses' milk to preserve the
beauty and youth of her skin. Legend has it that no less than 700 asses were needed to provide
the quantity of milk necessary for her daily bath. Asses' milk was also formerly used in medicine.
Its healing virtues have been known described by Hippocrates (460 – 370 BC), the father of
medicine, for numerous purposes, such as liver troubles, infectious diseases, fevers, oedema,
nose bleeds, poisonings, and wounds.
