[www.keralites.net] Istanbul’s Locals Really Care About Their Small Friends!

During Istanbul's recent snowstorm, local shop owners are keeping local strays warm! Some are giving up floorspace to the city's stray dogs on their shop floor… …While others turned their place into a sanctuary for stray cats Selçuk Bayal did just this in his cafe/stationary store! "These creatures are entrusted to us … we are responsible for looking after them" Other locals have put out cardboard and food for doggs and their pups on the streets Bayal also told that the cats are "grateful" for the shelter The dogs also look happy with their newfound places to sleep And we think that with stories like these, that 2017 might well be a happy year!

[www.keralites.net] Add Apple Cider Vinegar to a Bath and Reap These Benefits

6 Beneficial Reasons to Add Apple Cider Vinegar to Your Bath! Taking a bath in apple cider vinegar may not seem like the best way to bathe. But it may just be the thing you need for a full body detox and amazing skin. While there are many reasons to include apple cider vinegar into your daily routine, below are six beneficial reasons to add it to your bath:    1. It helps fight fungus   Apple cider helps clear quite a few skin conditions - fungus being one of them. It helps treat bacteria that likes to settle on your skin. While you need not use it daily, it is good to do so every now and then, as your regular soap or body wash won't always kill such bacteria.  2. Combats body odor   While you may be tempted to cover up your body odor with some deodorant, using apple cider vinegar is a better way to go about it. In a warm and slightly moist environment, bacteria tends to mix with your natural sweat. Over time the bacteria buildup under your arms will start letting off that odiferous smell. Bathing in apple cider creates a less hospitable environment for odor.  3. Promotes healthy hair   The acid in apple cider strips off any oily residue that builds on your hair, restoring its natural shine. Apple cider also helps keep your hair soft and supple. It also helps prevent split ends and reduces dandruff.  4. Pampers your feet   Our feet are often abused and neglected. Bathing in apple cider vinegar will help reduce that unseemly odor and can also help eliminate warts and athlete's foot.  5. Relieves joint pain   If you feel pain in your joints or they often crack, using apple cider vinegar may help. In fact, research shows that individuals who regularly bathe in apple cider reported joint pain improvement.  6. Soothes sunburn   Instead of opting for an after sun lotion that contains chemicals, try to soak in a vinegar bath. Apple cider will help soothe sunburn as well as promote faster healing.  Other uses for apple cider vinegar Apple cider vinegar can be used in more ways than those stated above. In fact, it is known to have some fantastic uses too. Here are some incredible ways to use apple cider vinegar:   1. Deodorant: Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider with one cup of water in a spray bottle. Use daily to keep your underarms fresh. To remove the smell of vinegar, add a few drops of an essential oil into the mix.  2. Remove blemishes: Dab a small bit of apple cider onto any facial blemishes to help get rid of unsightly pimples, overnight. 3. Mouthwash: Mix a capful of apple cider with a 1/4 cup of water for a powerful antiseptic mouthwash. This will help beat bad breath and reduce plaque. Swish it in your mouth for a few extra minutes then brush your teeth as usual. 4. Daily elixir: Sip on 16 ounces of purified water combined with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar throughout the day. This will serve as a great toxin cleanser. It will also reduce inflammation and promote weight loss.

[www.keralites.net] Get Informed! How Many of These Cancer Facts Do You Know?

12 Cancer Facts You Need to Know! What can you do to lower your risk and prevent cancer from stealing your life or the life of someone you love? In order to conquer this disease, what you need is knowledge. Informing yourself of important cancer facts and understanding who is most at risk, as well as the factors that increase your cancer risk will reduce your risk significantly. Here are 12 cancer facts you need to pay attention to.       Research suggests that only 5% of cancers are hereditary. This indicates that many cancers are caused by the lifestyle choices we make. The food we eat and our physical activity levels have a direct impact on our overall cancer risk.   Cancer is a result of abnormal cells that multiply and spread out of control, damaging healthy cells along the way.   Factors such as pollution, heavy metal, toxicity and household cleaning products can increase your risk of cancer.   Most lung cancers do not cause any symptoms until the cancer has spread. But some people with early lung cancer do notice symptoms like a cough that does not go away, chest pain that gets worse with deep breathing, coughing or laughing, weight loss and loss of appetite, and more.    Sleeping through the night provides many health benefits to the body. It is one of the most underestimated ways to keep your body strong and cancer-free.   Cancer causes more deaths than malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS combined.   According to the National Cancer Institute, 232,340 female breast cancers and 2,240 male breast cancers are reported in the USA each year, as well as 39,620 deaths caused by the disease.   Research shows that survival rates for lung cancer are less than 2%.       While anyone can develop cancer, the risk of getting it increases with age. Most cases tend to occur in middle-aged adults or older.   Studies indicate that the possible reason obesity is linked with cancer is because of an increased levels of insulin and insulin growth factor-1 (IGF-1) which may help some cancers develop.    Though contrary to popular belief, sun exposure is actually good for you. Spending about 30 minutes of early morning or late afternoon sun on your hands and face is enough to get your recommended dose of vitamin D.   This is known as apoptosis or 'cell suicide'.
