[www.keralites.net] HAVE A GREAT LIFE - GOOD NIGHT

 Have a Great Life :)
We all know money is very important. But money is not so important that we do not utilize it even when we need it most but keep it in bank for someone else to enjoy. No one knows what future holds for us.
A British tycoon passed away.
He left for his widow 1 Billion Pounds in the bank.
The widow remarried one of her husband's young employees.
The young employee said,
"All this while I thought I was working for my boss.
I now realize that my boss was all the time working for me!"
Moral of the Story
It is more important to live longer than to have more wealth.
• Strive to have a strong and healthy body.
• In an expensive cell phone, 75% of the functions are useless.
• In an expensive car, 75% of the speed is not needed.
• In a big luxurious house, 75% of the space remains unoccupied or unutilized.
• In a whole wardrobe of clothes, 75% of them are rarely worn.
• Out of whole life's earnings, 75% stays behind for other people to use.
• In every human being, 75% of the talent is not utilized
So, how to make full use of our 25%?
• Go for medical check-up even when you feel fit.
• Drink more water even if you're not thirsty.
• Let go your ego, whenever you can.
• Give in even if you are right.
• Be humble even if you are very powerful.
• Be contented even if you are not rich.
Have a Great Life !
GOOD NIGHT

[www.keralites.net] HURRY HOME

Hindu in the US suffered a heart attack on the road and was picked up by an ambulance.
Being religious, he kept repeating "Hari Om! Hari Om! Hari Om!"
When the ambulance pulled into his driveway, his wife came out and screamed at the paramedics. "Why didn't you take him straight to the hospital?"
They replied : "Because he kept saying hurry home! Hurry home! Hurry home!"

[www.keralites.net] 12 SIGNS OF VITAMIN B DEFICIENCY

12 Signs of Vitamin D Deficiency
Amy Goodrich

1. Muscle and Bone Weakness:
Vitamin D is important for bones, muscles and teeth. Weakened bones, teeth, or muscles may be a sign that you are not getting enough of it.
2. Feeling Blue Or Sad:
Researchers have found that woman with low levels of vitamin D are more likely to be depressed or struggle with deep feelings of sadness.
3. Great Pain Sensitivity:
People who struggle with chronic pains often have inadequate vitamin D levels.
4. Chronic Gum Disease:
People with lower levels of vitamin D are more vulnerable for swelling, reddening, and bleeding of gums.
5. High Blood Pressure:
Vitamin D is important for your heart too. When you don't get enough of it, you'reblood pressure may rise.
6. Fatigue and Sleepiness:
People with lower levels of vitamin D lack the energy during the day and may have a constant feeling of fatigue.
7. Mood Swings:
Vitamin D plays a role in serotonin production. This "feel good hormone" has a major impact on our mood.
8. Decreased Endurance:
Studies have shown that athletes with lower vitamin D levels preform less and have lower energy levels compared to other athletes.
9. Overweight:
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, stored in our fat cells. People who are overweight or obese therefore need more vitamin D.
10. Gut Issues:
People who struggle with fat absorption (ex. Crohn's, celiac and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and inflammatory bowel disease), may have lower vitamin D levels as well.
11. Head Sweater:
Excessive head sweating is a common, early sign of vitamin D deficiency.
12. Allergies:
Adequate vitamin D can reduce allergies. A study done on 6000 individuals showed that people with low vitamin D levels are more susceptible to allergies

Re: [www.keralites.net] Honesty and poverty

A real incident

A shopkeeper in Alappuzha was surprised when an adivasi looking man purchased a sack of sugar>50 kg.He informed the matter to the police.Next day police found a man and his family selling honey on the road side as original honey collected by adivasi.Police raided their residence and found the artificial honey production unit and they were arrested.

On Wednesday, 22 June 2016 8:38 AM, "Xavier William varekatx@gmail.com [Keralites]" wrote:

Recently I made a trip to a forest area east of Chalakudy in Trichur district and there right in the middle of the thick forest is a hamlet called Malakkapara where they sell forest products brought in by Adivasis. As I normally do, this time also I bought some 5KG of forest honey which is supposed to be richer than local honey which comes mostly from rubber plantations. I brought the Adivasi honey home and began to take it daily in the morning. But then I began to have doubts about its quality. So I searched the net and came to a youtube presentation on ascertaining the quality of honey at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIROuMdWNxY. One of the best tests is to dip a cotton wick in the honey to be tested an set a match to it. If it burns it is good honey.

On the other hand a cotton wick dipped in honey adulterated with sugar syrup - the common adulterant in honey - will not burn. I tried this out and found that the Adivasi honey is adulterated. On the other hand when I lit a wick dipped in Dabur honey it burned steadily. So dont trust products and medicines only because they come from simple adivasis. The impression promoted by movies and novels that villagers and adivasis are simple and can be trusted is just another of those urban myths which has no foundation whatsoever. According to me the poorer a man or society is there is more chance of dishonesty.

Thus in the past clothes hung out to dry as well as footwear left outside before entering churches and temples used to be stolen and so temples like Madura Meenakshi temple had a guardian for footwear. Similarly towels, bedsheets and other movables used to be stolen from hotel rooms. But not anymore as we Indians do not have to risk being caught in an embarrassing position since we are richer than 30 years ago. But if the stakes are higher we might still resort to such unsavory and dishonest practices. In conclusion for most people honesty has a price.

[www.keralites.net] Swami Vivekananda Suffered from 31 ailments

Swami Vivekananda suffered from 31 ailments

'The Monk as Man' by renowned Bengali writer Shankar lists insomnia, liver and kidney diseases, malaria, migraine, diabetes and heart ailments as some of the 31 health problems that the Swami faced in the course of his life.
Shankar describes Swami Vivekananda's health problems using a sanskrit quote 'shariram byadhimandiram' --- the body is the temple of diseases.
Ironically, Vivekananda used to emphasise greatly on physical strength and is known for the shocking statement 'Better to play football than read the Gita'.
One of the perennial problems that Vivekananda lived with was chronic insomnia and in a letter to Shashi Bhushan Ghosh dated May 29, 1897, he confided "I never in my life could sleep as soon as I got into bed."
The previous year, Vivekananda seemed to have written to his 'dhira mata' (Sara Bull) from New York complaining about his lack of sleep. "My health has nearly broken down. I have not slept even one night soundly in New York since I came ... I wish I could go to the bottom of the sea and have a good, long sleep."
It is also known that Vivekananda used to suffer from diabetes like his father and at that time suitable drugs were unavailable.
Shankar writes that Vivekananda had tried different modes of treatment ranging from allopathic, homoeopathic to ayurvedic and had also taken advice from all kinds of quasi-medical experts from various countries.

He narrates that in the summer of 1887, Vivekananda (whose real name was Narendranath Dutta) had fallen very ill due to overstrain and lack of food.
During this period, he also suffered from gallstones, and acute diarrhoea. Later, during the same summer, he came down with typhoid and problems in the urinary tract.
"Narendranath's abdominal pains were a source of great anxiety," Shankar says.
Shankar wonderfully chronicles the various medical problems Swami Vivekananda faced during his stint as a wandering monk in the country and across the world, and why he cut short his journey in Cairo, Egypt, to return to India.
It was to French operatic soprano Rosa Emma Calvet that Vivekandanda had declared in Egypt that he would die on July 4.
"Swami Vivekananda's eyes filled with tears. He said he wanted to return to his country to die, to be with his gurubhais," Shankar wrote.
The fateful evening of July 4, 1902, Vivekananda passed away following a third heart attack, completing 39 years, five months and 24 days.

2. Man was sent on earth to suffer...
Woman was sent to make sure it happens!
3. Husband Wife always compromise.
Husband always admits that he is wrong, and wife agrees with him.

Wife concluded: See dear; do you want to WIN or be HAPPY?

[www.keralites.net] INDIA NEEDS SUCH A MOTHER IN LAW

 India needs such mothers-in-law.
😊😊:) :)
A mother writes a heartfelt letter to her son, on why he should not laugh at his wife's shapeless rotis. A must read.
Dear Son,
Hope this letter finds you in the best of spirits and health.
You might be surprised to find an email from your mom. Something told me to write to you; that you need to hear from me today.
It was indeed one of the best evenings that your father and I spent when you visited us with your new wife yesterday. Rest assured, we liked her immensely. I could see that both of you are very much in love and that makes me happy. May your love grow every moment!
Now let me get to the reason for writing this letter. I don't know whether you remember, but during dinner, you cracked a joke about theshapeless rotis that Lavanya makes. We all laughed and your father laughed the loudest. There were tears of laughter in your father's eyes and there were tears in your wife's eyes too. I can assure you that her tears were not of mirth; they were tears of mortification, of shame brought about by the innocuous joke that you cracked.
I guess that joke was the reason why we heard raised voices coming from your room yesterday night and the reason why Lavanya appeared puffy eyed in the morning. Maybe she cried all night.
Son, I want to tell you something. I love shapeless rotis. They bring back many fond memories. They remind me of the shapeless rotis made by my father on certain Saturday mornings when my mother had extra duty at her office. They often lacked salt, were hard like rock and were shaped like various continents. But his love for us compensated for all that it lacked.
Shapeless rotis also bring memories of those days when your father turned into my cook. It was during those early days of pregnancy while I was carrying you. I couldn't bear the smell of spices or rice or anything cooking. Your father would churn out shapeless rotis and experimental curries, which tasted quite good because he wanted to provide home cooked food for his wife and unborn child. His care and affection made those rotis priceless.
Do you remember how you used to insist on helping me while I prepared rotis when you were around four years old? You would play with the dough and create various shapes that you wanted to be cooked and served to all. I can tell you, those were the tastiest rotis that I ever ate.
Words can create a world full of love. Yet, a thoughtless word is enough to destroy that world.
Lavanya and you are equally qualified; you both earn equally well too. You have both spent an equal number of years educating yourself to be the professionals that you are. But you expect Lavanya to become the perfect cook and home-maker from the moment you married her! How unreasonable is that?
Rahul, no new wife wants to be ridiculed in front of her in-laws. Trust me, I can tell you that. Been there, done that. She craves to be loved by them and she expects her husband's support in her effort at endearing herself to them.
Teething troubles in marriages are often capable of draining out the love you have for each other. Be there for her while she adapts herself to your world. A small token of appreciation and open support is all that she will need.
You are my beloved son and I know you have learned to see the brighter side of things. Value love more than any other thing because son, perfectly round rotis are often machine made. They lack the most essential ingredient; Love.
Wishing you a world of love,
Your loving mother.
