[www.keralites.net] Story: My Daughter Reminds Me a Great Lesson

Yesterday morning while getting ready for office I was brushing my teeth. Without realizing my 3 years old daughter standing right behind me I moved a little backwards resulting my body hit her a little. Because my tooth brush was in my mouth so I couldnt say sorry to her. As Hadia has recently learnt about using Thank-you and Sorry for different situations from her school teacher, she was expecting me to say sorry without understanding the fact that while brushing her father cant do so. She waited for me for a little while to apologize which I did not. So her little heart broke and she started crying. I immediately finished my brushing and kissed her and said sorry to her. Very soon she became normal and forgot what has happened a while ago and we had a great breakfast J

Later I pondered that with friends, family and colleagues we often forget to say sorry for our mistakes which results in stiffen relationship causing brawls or complete break-up. While our loved ones give us time and expect our apologetic response, we forget to say sorry or sometimes even ignore the matter altogether considering it a minor one; whereas, it may be critically important for someone. Hence it is important for us to pay attention to this aspect and consider improving our Emotional Intelligence Skills (Managing ours as well as others emotions), enhance Empathic Skills and endeavour to develop trust with our loved ones for healthy relationships.

Re: [www.keralites.net] Negative vote

This is the first babys step in the good governance of India which in times to come would eliminate the corrupt and the inefficient politicos during the elections. If this did not happen now the next step (when ever it might happen) may not take place ! The politicians now know the peoples desire and hopefully in times to come will mend themselves or perish. Who knows like an Arab Spring there may be an Indian Spring ahead?

Subject: RE: [www.keralites.net] Negative vote I have stated from the news quoting the letter from the Principal Secretary of the Election Commission. The negative votes will have only academic value as of now and will not affect the elections at all.

The provisions as stated by Mr. Nair are the ideal ones, but under the present election laws, it cannot be done and as none of the political parties including the ruling ones are not interested , the required amendments to the law are not expected to come in the near future

It is not like that. There should be an additional clause that if the NOTA receive majority votes, the polling will have to be cancelled and there should be re-election, when none of the previous candidates should be permitted to participate.

That was the final deal. What was ultimately accepted and what will be put in practice is to be seen.

Dear All

It was in news a few days back that the Supreme Court has allowed the introduction of negative votes in the elections and every one was rejoicing. Now the Election Commission has issued the procedures for recording negative voting by r introducing a button after all the candidates names one button for "none of the above".

So far good, but what is the end result of having this button. A big "NOTHING", even if majority of the votes goes for "None of the above", the candidate who gets the maximum votes will be declared as elected. That is, the constituency will be represented by a person, whom majority of the voters have rejected. What is the use of such a negative vote?

[www.keralites.net] ~ Princess Diana And Dr Hasnat Khan

Though Princess Dianas August 1997 death forever linked her to a flashy playboy named Dodi Al Fayed, that fatal Paris tryst may have been intended as a message to the man she'd just broken up with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khanthe only one who would never use or betray her. Talking to those who knew the couple during their two-year relationship, Sarah Ellison examines Diana's yearning for normalcy, Khan's fears about life with a global celebrity, and her struggle to bridge the chasm between them.
