Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah seriously injured in 'deliberate attack' while cycling to work

Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah on Tuesday received serious injuries as he fell from his bicycle after being deliberately hit by a car while going to office, varsity officials said.

The driver escaped from the scene along with the car, which had the registration number UP81-AP-8802.

The vice chancellor, who daily cycles to his office, was near University Guest House No.2, very close to the Bab-e-Syed (University Gate) when the red-coloured car tailing him, hit his cycle and tried to push him deliberately to a side.

Shah was taken to the J.N. Medical College Hospital where he underwent examination, which revealed that he had fractured his fourth and fifth ribs and his left knee was badly bruised and bleeding.

Senior varsity officials, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig. (retd.) S. Ahmad Ali, Registrar Group Captain (retd.) Shahrukh Shamshad and Proctor Jamshed Siddiqui, went to the hospital to enquire about his condition. His wife Sabiha Seemi Shah also reached the hospital.

Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah arrives on a cycle.

Senior administrative and police officials also reached the hospital and enquired about the incident.

Vice-chancellor's security guard Irfanuddin, who was only a few steps behind when the incident took place, has lodged an FIR with the Civil Lines Police Station.

Shah has launched a drive to popularize cycling within the varsity campus following the ban on motorcycles in all residential boys' hostels.

What ever be the philosophy of RSS, they used to spread venom against Christians and Muslims in their mouthpiece organiser, which I used to read some time back.

Budhists and Sikhs do not consider themselves as Hindus, they consider themselves as separate religions and have been treated as minorities in India.

I do not think any true Christian or Muslim is a member of RSS. But there are a few people with Christian names in BJP to fulfill their political ambitions, which they cannot achieve in other political parties; BJP project them as show pieces.

Majority of members in alsmost all social/political organizations in india except muslim league are hindus and we are not considering them as religios organizations. As per my understanding RSS is not considering "Hindu" as a religion but it is the culture of India. Religion means a state of life bound by monastic vows, belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe and a set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader. Religion is a fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a group of people. These set of beliefs concern the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, and involve devotional and ritual observances. They also often contain a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
 
"An orderly life so far as others are able to observe          us is now and then produced by prudential motives or          by dint of habit; but without seriousness there can          be no religious principle at the bottom, no course          of conduct from religious motives; in a word, there          can be no religion".                   --Paley. 
 
Likewise in Hinduism, there are so many relirions viz Saiva, Vaishnava, Sakteya, Ganapatya, Sikh, Jaina, Budha, Charvaka etc and hinduism or sanathana dharma is a consolidation of all these religions and have no common belief, vommon God, common geverning code of conduct, common practices, common teaching and common spiritual leader. Religions are practising ceremonies like mamodisa/sunnath to take their followers/believers in to the religion also. In hinduism, there are no practices like that. Then how can we consider hinduism as a religion? Actually and as per RSS doctrine, Hinduism is not a religion but it is the encient living culture and nationality of Bharat. Hindus are  the natives of Bharat whther they are believing or not believing in religions. Hinduism has so many religions, scholors, leaders, preachers, Gods, beliefs, practices, groups, code of conducts, holy books etc. For RSS, Hinduism is Indianism only. Moreover, for your information, RSS has so many christians, muslims, sikhs, jains, budhists as its members, offece bearers and well wishers.

 First of all I do not agree with you that RSS is not a religious organisation;  its members are all Hindus and they are against Christians and Muslims. I do not about the legality of the ban on RSS imposed by Nehru. 
As you said casteism is the bane of Indian society. Many of the lower castes in the north converted to Christianity thinking that they could get out of the caste system. Though they got better education in Christian Schools and their life style improved, they are still discriminated among Christians, though unlike Hinduism, the religion as such does not recognise castes. By this conversion they have lost the Scheduled Caste Status and many, including one  Central Minister has gone back to his Hindu Caste to get the benefit of reservation. So now even if you do want to abolish casteism, the castes which are getting the benefit of reservation will not agree to that. 
I was a  Central Government officer, who resigned the job   in frustration when an SC officer was promoted over me due to the reservation quota. The only advice I gave to my children was never to join Govt. service as it is meant for quota people.

Yes there is a general trend in Hindus in the country that they have been divided by the name of caste, colour and region and have been ignored for the last 65 years ever since the independence. Even though Muslim League is a religeous Party and the RSS is NOT at all religious organization even then Mr. Jawaharla Nehru chose to ban RSS and recognize the Muslim Leage in 1959. For what? To appease the Muslims at the cost of other religions. This type of partiality you can see every where. For a healthy nation no citizen should think about his religion and the religion should be kept within the four walls of its worship place. In India what is happening. The other way. Who is responsible for this. The Government and Government alone. Any  discrimination or favour based on religion or caste is dangerous to the nation. Today or tomorrow it will lead to destruction of the nation. In India any caste or sub caste of Islam is Muslim but in Hindus they divided it into 1,000 caste and referred as particular caste and not as HINDU. This has paid good dividend in the past to the Government. It cannot be continued. I will fully agree if any record where they are NOT asking for your religion or caste or sub caste being implemented and all favours are given based on economical conditions. Will any body take that challenge.

While I generally agree with your posting, I say that Christians have not added any thing in their appearance to make them identifiable as a Christian,  rather I see a revivalism among Hindus with more people seen in public with sandal wood paste on their foreheads and threads on their hands. When I was in a school, which was a Hindu managed one and majority of the students Hindus, I had not seen any one with threads on their hands and  with sandal wood paste on their foreheads excepting on some special days.

What I have seen in Kerala is that the UDF supporters belong to the educated class and they do not go on processions or raise slogans. So if UDF tries to start an agitation or go for hartal, they will not succeed as the LDF. In the case of LDF, especially CPM, as admitted by CPM leaders themselves, 90% of their members belong to the labour class, who are less educated and blindly follow the directions of the leaders and they are brain washed to the views of the party as they read only Deshabhimani and see only Kairali channels.

I am just writing my observations on this issue. I am neither a UDF supporter nor a LDF Supporter.

Eventhough K Muraleedharan and PC George has condemned the Call of CRPF Force to Kerala, that has resulted in such a quick wind up of the strike.

If they were not called in, CPM would have threatened Kerala Police and would have taken control of the whole area and the result would be something different.

I strongly believe that Shri. Ommen Chandy might not have taken bribe or some monetary benefit from these crooks Saritha , Biju and Shaloo when he knows that they were in jail for fraud activities in the past. He has strongly believed his office bearers and has not expected this much. But God knows what is the truth.

UDF and LDF are both cheaters and they have their vested interests. But in one thing UDF leaders are stupid I believe. During the last Govt.(LDF) rule,

The Total For you fraud case, Lottery case, and other such cases, why they have not taken up the cases like LDF has done like Solar case. They are very liberal and don't go so deeply like LDF has done this time. LDF has another agenda also behind this. (To get back their face which has lost because of TP's murder and the coming Lok Sabha elections).

More than nine in ten people failed to recognise one particular warning.

The study identified 99 separate dashboard light warnings in 15 of the UK's most popular cars ranging from the humble Nissan hatchback to Mercedes-Benz executive saloons.
