This little girl with a big heart is the dream of the future. But doctors say that 12-year-old girl named Ontlametse Falaste was only a few years of life. It is the only black child diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, Progeria - a rare fatal disease, accelerating the aging process. Children with this disease die from heart failure at the age of 8 to 21 years, suffering from high blood pressure, strokes, coronary artery disease and heart failure. On 9 June 2010 on 53 people suffering from progeria.

വി. എസിനുവേണ്ടി കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ച കള്ളക്കഥ

കൊച്ചി: പാമോയില്‍ ഇറക്കുമതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പ് പുറത്തുവന്ന പത്ര റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് വസ്തുതാവിരുദ്ധമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ആ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ആദ്യമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച കേരള കൗമുദിയുടെ എഡിറ്റര്‍ ഇന്‍ ചീഫ് എം. എസ് മണി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

... പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് വി. എസ് അച്യുതാനന്ദനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു പത്രപ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്‍ തെറ്റായ വിവരങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ച ആ വാര്‍ത്ത പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചതിന്റെ പേരില്‍ താന്‍ മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കെ. കരുണാകരനോട് പിന്നീട് മാപ്പ് പറഞ്ഞെ ന്നും മണി അറിയിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മന്‍ ചാണ്ടി യോ മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കരുണാകരനോ പാമോയില്‍ ഇറക്കുമതിയില്‍ ഒരുതരത്തിലും കുറ്റക്കാരാകുന്നില്ലെന്നും കേരള കൗമുദി പത്രാധിപര്‍ പറയുന്നു. അമൃത ടെലിവിഷന്‍, റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടര്‍ ടി. വി ചാനല്‍ എന്നീ ദൃശ്യമാധ്യമങ്ങളുമായി നടത്തിയ ദീര്‍ഘമായ സംഭാഷണങ്ങളിലാണ് എം. എസ്. മണിയുടെ അസാധാരണമായ ഈ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തല്‍. ''പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് അച്യുതാനന്ദന്റെ താല്‍പര്യപ്രകാരം ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്ത കള്ളക്കഥയാണ് പാമോയില്‍ കേസ്. വലിയൊരു കുംഭകോണം നടന്നുവെന്ന് പാതിരാത്രിയില്‍ ടെലിഫോണില്‍ ഒരു റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടര്‍ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞ് തന്നെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിച്ചാണ് അത് കേരള കൗമുദിയില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കാന്‍ ഇടയായത്. പിറ്റേ ദിവസം സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റിലെ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍നിന്ന് യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം മനസിലാക്കി. അതിനാല്‍ തുടര്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച് വീണ്ടും അബദ്ധത്തില്‍ ചാടാതെ ഞാന്‍ സ്വയം രക്ഷിച്ചു''- മണി വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നു. മാനേജ്‌മെന്റുമായി വളരെ അടുപ്പം പുലര്‍ത്തിയ ഒരു റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടര്‍ ഉറവിടത്തെപറ്റിയുള്ള സത്യം മറച്ചുവച്ച് തന്നെ വഞ്ചിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തതെന്ന് ചീഫ് എഡിറ്റര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ''പാമോയില്‍ ഇറക്കുമതിയില്‍ വലിയ വെട്ടിപ്പ് നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന കള്ള വിവരം ദീപികയിലെ പി. പി. ജെയിംസിനാണ് തല്‍പ്പരകക്ഷികള്‍ നല്‍കിയത്. ദീപിക അത് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചില്ല. പിന്നീട് ആ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ മുഴുവന്‍ ജെയിംസ് കേരള കൗമുദിയിലെ ബി. സി. ജോജോയ്ക്ക് കൈമാറി. വിശദമായ പരിശോധിക്കാനും അന്വേഷിക്കാനും കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ അങ്ങനെയൊരു വ്യാജ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടി വരില്ലായിരുന്നു'' എന്ന് എം. എസ് മണി വിശദീകരിച്ചു.

1991-ല്‍ അധികാരത്തില്‍ വന്ന കരുണാകരന്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ മലേഷ്യയില്‍നിന്ന് പാമോയില്‍ ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്യാന്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ അനുവാദം നേടിയിരുന്നു. തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ ജയലളിത സര്‍ക്കാരിനും സമാനമായ അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ കേരളത്തില്‍ ഇറക്കിയ പാമോയില്‍ ഇടപാടില്‍ കോടിക്കണക്കിന് രൂപയുടെ തിരിമറിയുണ്ടായി എന്നാണ് കേരള കൗമുദി അക്കാലത്ത് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തത്. ആ വാര്‍ത്ത അന്നത്തെ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവായ വി. എസ് അച്യുതാനന്ദന്റെ താല്‍പര്യപ്രകാരം ചിലര്‍ തട്ടിക്കൂട്ടിയതാണെന്ന് അമൃത ടെലിവിഷന്‍ ചാനലില്‍ ടി. കെ. സന്തോഷ് കുമാറിനോടും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടര്‍ ചാനലിലെ വേണുവിനോടും അഭിമുഖ സംഭാഷണ വേളയില്‍ എം. എസ് മണി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി. കരുണാകരന്റെ നിര്യാണത്തിനുശേഷവും പാമോയില്‍ കേസ് കോടതിയില്‍ തുടരുകയാണ്. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മന്‍ ചാണ്ടി ഈ കേസില്‍ പ്രതിയാകുമോ എന്ന തര്‍ക്കവുംഇപ്പോള്‍ ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലുണ്ട്. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ കേരള കൗമുദി മുഖ്യ പത്രാധിപരുടെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തല്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയവും നൈതികവുമായ പ്രാധാന്യം അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു. വി. എസ്. അച്യുതാനന്ദനെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റി ഒരു മാധ്യമ സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും മണി പറയുന്നു. രാഷ്ട്രീയ വൈരമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ വ്യാജ വാര്‍ത്തകള്‍ ചമച്ച് നിരന്തരം വേട്ടയാടാന്‍ വി. എസ് തന്റെ മാധ്യമ സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റിനെ ആയുധമാക്കുന്നു. അതിന്കൂട്ടുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്ക് സാമ്പത്തികനേട്ടംഅടക്കമുള്ള പ്രയോജനമുണ്ടെന്നും മണി ആരോപിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
