After MSG in Maggi, Live Larvae Found In Nestle's Milk Powder Pack

COIMBATORE: Amid the raging controversy over high lead content in Nestle's 'Maggi' noodles, a sample of the company's milk powder has been declared unsafe by the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Wing.
K Prem Ananth, a taxi driver from Puliakulam, Coimbatore, had purchased a 380 gm Nestle NAN PRO 3 carton, a milk powder for toddlers.
Prem Ananth had already fed one of his 18-month-old children with the baby formula and was mixing a separate batch for the other twin when he stumbled upon live larvae in the milk powder.
Two days later, the infant, who was fed the milk powder, allegedly developed skin allergy, and was admitted in a private paediatric care centre at Race Course here.
Following this, Prem Ananth registered a voice complaint with the Nestle customer support. The company then sent local area manager G Krishnaperumal to investigate the matter. Krishnaperumal offered to replace the product, which Prem Ananth refused. The representative then promised to test the powder at the company's certified laboratory. Prem Ananth rejected this as well as he was not convinced that Nestle would conduct an impartial probe into the issue..
Meanwhile, a report from analysts at the Food Analysis Laboratory, Coimbatore, confirmed that the 380 gm sample contained 28 live larvae and 22 Sitophilus oryzae (rice weevils)..
On April 29, Prem approached the Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drug Administration Department (Food Safety Wing) in Coimbatore, and gave the samples for testing.
R Thenmozhi, a food analyst who examined the product, said in her report, a copy of which is with Express, that "the sample of MILK POWDER — Nestle NAN PRO 3 submitted for analysis does not conform to standards specified under Regulation 2.1.9(5) of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations as it contains live insects."
R Kathiravan, designated food safety officer, confirmed the veracity of the report, but said the results cannot be used to classify all Nestle products as unsafe.
Prem Ananth has now filed a complaint with the Food Safety Cell in Coimbatore. When Express contacted the Nestle Head Office in Gurgaon, Haryana, public relations officer M Himanshu promised to look into the report, which has been sent by e-mail to its office. The company is yet to respond.
Test on maggi samples
After the TN Food Safety and Drug Administration ordered its officials to test samples of 'Maggi' noodles in the State, district authorities submitted their reports on Monday itself so that they can be sent to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.

To Each AC Car user, Now this is very interesting & MUST READ , as it's for HEALTH !...& to prevent cancer,
Car's manual says to roll down the windows to let out all the hot air before turning on the A/C. WHY ?
No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before. We wonder where this stuff comes from, but here is an example that explains a lot of the cancer-causing incidents.
Many people are in their cars the first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night, 7 days a week.
Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.
Open the windows after you enter your car and let the chocked up air overnight drain out and then after a couple of minutes, turn ON the AC .
Here's why: According to research, the car's dashboard, seats, a/c ducts, in fact ALL of the plastic objects in your vehicle, emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin. A BIG CARCINOGEN. Take the time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car when you open it, and BEFORE you start it up.
In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure can cause Leukemia and increases the risk of some cancers. It can also cause miscarriages in pregnant women.
The "acceptable" Benzene level indoors is: 50mg per sq.ft.
A car parked indoors, with windows closed, will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene - 8 times the acceptable level.
If parked outdoors in the sun, at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.
People who get into the car, keeping the windows closed, will eventually INHALE excessive amounts of the BENZENE toxin.
Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidneys and liver. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.
So friends, please open the windows and doors of your car - give it some time for the interior to air out
- (dispel the deadly stuff) - before you enter the vehicle.

Does God Exist? Yes, He Does Exist, So Answered A School Student.
We dare repeat an old "story", worth remembering and repeating from time to time. Or, as it is said, it is "As You Like It".
The title suggests it is a deep philosophical matter. As we shall soon discover, it was an answer given by a school student to the question posed by the teacher in a class.
Shall we go over the process slowly?
In 1902, a professor asked his student whether it was God who created everything that exists in the Universe?

Student replied: Yes
He again asked:
What about evil?
Has God created evil also?
The student got silent...
Then the student requested that could he ask a question for him?
Professor allowed him to do so.
He asked: Does cold exist?
Professor said: Yes! Don't you feel the cold dear?
Student said: I'm sorry but you are wrong, Sir. Cold is a complete absence of heat...
There is no cold, it is only an absence of heat.
Student asked again:
Does darkness exist?
Professor Said: Yes!
Student replied: you are again wrong, Sir. There is no such thing like darkness. Its actually the absence of light.
Sir! We always study light & heat, but not cold & darkness.
Similarly, the evil does not exist. Actually, it is the absence of love, faith & true belief in God.

Cheese is produced throughout the world; it is an ancient food with origins that predate recorded history. It is a dairy product made from pressed milk curds. Different varieties are made from unripened (fresh) cheese or ripened (aged) cheese.
Cheese is a delicious and nutritious food that is very versatile. You can add it to other dishes or eat it by itself. It's convenient and portable. There are more than 300 varieties of cheese
including American, Cheddar, Mozzarella and Colby—many of which are available in various flavors, forms (chunks, slices, cubes, shredded, grated, crumbled, sticks, spreads) and packages to meet consumers' needs.

Health Benefits of Cheese
Cheese contains a host of nutrients like calcium, protein, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin A and vitamin B12. Calcium is one of the nutrients most likely to be lacking in the American diet. According to government statistics, nine out of 10 women and six out of 10 men fall short of calcium recommendations. The high-quality protein in cheese provides the body with essential building blocks for strong muscles. For a complete listing of the nutrients in cheese, see the table below.
If you are lactose intolerant, many cheeses, particularly aged cheeses such as Cheddar and Swiss, contain little or no lactose and are often well tolerated.
For the past 30 years or so, saturated fat—found in meats, eggs, cheese, butter, whole milk, lard and some oils—was considered a primary cause of heart disease. New research, however, is showing that saturated fat has a minimal impact on heart disease risk, which is changing the "saturated fat is bad" paradigm and allowing people to enjoy more cheese and other favorite foods. Further research is needed showing significant scientific agreement.
Even if saturated fat is less of a concern, calories still matter. To reduce calories, you can grate or sprinkle harder cheeses over your dishes or use small amounts of aromatic and sharp cheeses for their delicious cheese flavor. Many reduced-fat varieties of cheeses are also available. This 2014 article in the Food and Nutrition Magazine provides more information on the Charms and Challenges of Cheese.
The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend that individuals ages 9 and older consume at least 3 servings of milk, cheese or yogurt each day; children aged 4-8 years need 2-1/2 cups per day. One serving of cheese is one and one-half ounces of hard cheese, one-third cup for grated cheese and two ounces for processed cheese.

MY MOTHER*.
This is a truly BEAUTIFUL piece please read this at a slow pace, digesting every word and in leisure...do not hurry....this is a treasure...
For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom, this is beautiful
For those of us who aren't, this is even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.
The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?" she asked.
And the guide said: "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it.
But the end will be better than the beginning." But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children," *A little patience and we are there*." So the children climbed, and when they reached the top they said,
" *Mother, we would not have done it without you*."
And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up at the stars and said,"This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.
Yesterday I gave them *courage*. Today, I ' ve given them *strength*."
And the next day came strange clouds, which darkened the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped and stumbled, and the mother said: " *Look up* . *Lift your eyes to the light* ."
And the children looked and saw above the clouds an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the darkness. And that night the Mother said,
"This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God."
And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent.
But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill, and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide.
And mother said,"I have reached the end of my journey.
And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them."
And the children said,
"You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her. And they said:
"We cannot see her but she is with us still.
A Mother like ours is more than a memory. *She is a living presence......" Your Mother is always with you* ....
She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallised in every teardrop.
She's the place you came from, your first home; and she's the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you'll. Not time, not space... not even death!
