[www.keralites.net] I DON'T THINK GOD NEEDS RELIGION

I DON'T THINK GOD NEEDS RELIGION
Is there a difference between God and Religion? There is definitely a difference between God and religion. God is someone I have a relationship with. My view on God can be altered by many factors in my life. It can be affected by my relationship with my own father or even by my culture and the people I spend time with.
I see religion is a set of beliefs that have guidelines for behavior associated with them. There are many religions with many differing beliefs and rules. I don't think God needs religion. He wants to have a relationship with me. It is so easy for me to get confused and think that my relationship with him has rules of engagement. I love knowing that God cares about me and that my relationship with him does not need a lot of order and structure. I want to participate in religion or church to celebrate his holiness, but it's not a condition of knowing God. Do you believe you can you connect to GOD without religion?

[www.keralites.net] MY WIFE , MY WEALTH

My Wife, My Wealth
👩"My Wife, My Wealth" 👸
by the Oshwal Community.
The community, that usually has the surname Shah, has some of the wealthiest people in Kenya.
Many members own top of the range supermarkets, shopping malls, and factories. And the experience of interacting with the top leadership of the community was a major eye opener for me.
When I asked one of the leaders why the community appears to prosper- far more than others:- he gave me a very interesting answer:
"My wife, my wealth" Principle.
He explained to me that they learnt that treating their women well has some very Tangible Benefits. According to them, women are like nature- they multiply what you give them, and give it back to you. They are taught- right early in life to treat their women right, irrespective
"If you give a woman a small seed, after nine months, she will give you a bouncing baby" he started. in in a poetic way he continued...
If you give a woman love, she will adore you,
If you give a woman respect and honour, she will worship you,
If you give a woman time, she will give you a Life Time,
If you give a woman money, she will give you an investment.
On the contrary,
If you you give a woman slaps, life will slap you back. If you oppress your woman, society will oppress you.
He then went ahead to give several examples of societies and communities that mistreat their women. He particularly pointed out at a world famous religion that oppresses its women- and showed me how they are at war with basically every one, and everywhere across the globe.
He then told me to open my eyes, and observe, with complete honesty anyone that treats his wife like trash, and follow how they end up. Or observe anyone that treats his wife like a queen and see how they end up.
He further reiterated, You all men will have to try it, after having lived on your ways for decades, just try this Principle for couple of years, you will be amazed to see your prosperity too.
Believe in "MY WIFE, MY WEALTH" Principle and Prosper.

[www.keralites.net] THE IMPORTANCE OF 108

When we see number of beads in vara mala/vrata mala, number of names of God and Goddess, I always wondered there should be some prominence for 108 which I do not know. Why do we give so much importance to 108 in Hinduism? Why 108 is so sacred for Hindus? Here is a brief explanation of the use and importance of this number:
The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth.
The distance from the Sun to the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun.
The average distance of the Moon from the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon.
In Ayurveda, there are 108 "Marma" points that are vital for giving life to living beings.
The powerful Sri Chakra yantra intersects in 54 points each with a masculine and feminine quality, totalling to 108
In Indian astrology we have 12 houses and 9 plants. 12 times 9 equals to 108.
In Tantra, it is estimated that every day we breathe 21,600 times out of which 10,800 are solar energy and 10, 800 are lunar energy. Multiplying 108 X 100 is 10,800.
The famous saint Bharata wrote "The Natya Shastra" which has 108 karanas (Movement of hand and feet)
There are 54 letters in Sanskrit each can be mentioned as masculine (Shiva) and feminine (Shakti) aspect, totalling to 108.
There are 108 Puranas and 108 Upanishads.
9 times 12: Both of these numbers have been said to have spiritual significance in many traditions. 9 times 12 is 108. Also, 1 plus 8 equals 9. That 9 times 12 equals 108.
Powers of 1, 2, and 3 in math: 1 to 1st power=1; 2 to 2nd power=4 (2×2); 3 to 3rd power=27 (3x3x3). 1x4x27=108
Harshad number: 108 is a Harshad number, which is an integer divisible by the sum of its digits (Harshad is from Sanskrit, and means "great joy")
Desires:
There are said to be 108 earthly desires in mortals.
Lies:
There are said to be 108 lies that humans tell.

Pranayama:
If one is able to be so calm in meditation as to have only 108 breaths in a day, enlightenment will come.
Sri Yantra:
On the Sri Yantra there are marmas where three lines intersect, and there are 54 such intersections. Each intersection has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti qualities. 54 times 2 equal 108. Thus, there are 108 points that define the Sri Yantra as well as the human body.
Pentagon:
The angle formed by two adjacent lines in a pentagon equals 108 degrees.

Stages of the soul:
Said that Atman, the human soul or center goes through 108 stages on the journey.
Meru:
This is a larger bead, not part of the 108. It is not tied in the sequence of the other beads. It is the guiding bead, the one that marks the beginning and end of the mala.
Praiseworthy souls:
There are 108 qualities of praiseworthy souls.
Japan:
In Japan, at the end of the year, a bell is chimed 108 times to finish the old year and welcome the new one. Each ring represents one of 108 earthly temptations a person must overcome to achieve nirvana.

[www.keralites.net] ‘Two rupee doctor’ serves Chennai’s underprivileged

'Two rupee doctor' serves Chennai's underprivileged :-

Image result for 'Two rupee doctor' serves Chennai's underprivileged

CHENNAI:  here is a 'Two Rupee Doctor' who has been quietly serving the underprivileged in North Chennai for more than four decades.

The real life hero, 67-year-old Thiruvengadam Veeraraghavan, completed his MBBS in Stanley Medical College. Since 1973, he has served residents of Vyasarpadi, accepting just Rs 2 as his fee. He later increased it to Rs 5. He became so popular that other doctors in the neighbourhood got together and protested, demanding he take at least Rs 100 as consultation fee.

Thiruvengadam retorted with a prescription of his own — he stopped accepting fee from his patients. They could pay him just about anything — small sums they could afford, eatables or nothing at all. Since he was an Associate Fellow in Industrial Health (AFIH), a corporate hospital engages him for screening job aspirants, and it gave him a steady income.

"I studied without any expenses, thanks to the policies of former chief minister K Kamaraj. It made me resolve not to charge patients," Thiruvendgadam told TOI. Though born and brought up in Vysarpadi, he had to move out after the 2015 deluge washed away his possessions. His hospital, however, stays where it has since 1973.

His dream is to construct a hospital for the slum dwellers of Vyasarpadi and serve them till his death. He attends to patients at a clinic in Erukancherry from 8pm to 10 pm and near Ashok Pillar in Vyasarpadi between 10pm and midnight and sometime even later. At Madras Medical College, he learnt how to dress leprosy patients.

Most of his batchmates are settled abroad with their families and grandchildren. His best friend since college days retired as a surgeon in the Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) and now works in a private hospital.

His wife Saraswathi worked as a railway officer and retired from service a few years ago. His son T Deepak and daughter T Preethi studied medicine in a college in Mauritius. He now hopes to get all his family members to work with him and fulfil his dream to build the hospital in Vysarpadi and serve its residents.

[www.keralites.net] Annapurna Mohan- govt-school teacher sold her jewellery to give students a classroom they deserve [2 Attachments]

With an interactive smartboard, colourful furniture and stacks of exciting books, it's hard to believe this is a government school classroom.

Walk into the Class 3 English class taught by Annapurna Mohan at this school in Tamil Nadu's Villupuram, and you'll have trouble believing that you're standing in a government school.

From an interactive smartboard to colourful and comfortable furniture to the stacks of English-language books, this classroom in the Panchayat Union Primary School (PUPS), Kandhadu seems as fine as any in a well-funded international school. And what's more, the students speak crisp and clear English, as fluently and comfortably as if they've been speaking it all their lives.

But the students of this classroom are fortunate to have had Annapurna for a teacher, She has not only struggled hard to build her students' language skills, but has even sold her own jewellery to create the kind of classroom she feels her pupils deserve.

Annapurna used phonetics to help the children with their pronunciation – teaching the students how to read and write the phonetic alphabet, and get a grasp on the language through this. She also focused on helping her students get a lucid understanding of sentence structure and grammar.

"I used to teach them in a British accent using phonetics. Teachers in Tamil Nadu don't use this system and teach English by parroting, which builds a fear of English in students. Through phonetic basics I taught them the sounds, which helped them read out complicated English words."

Within three days, she arranged for the money by selling off her own jewellery, and installed a digital smartboard system, new furniture, a new floor and even bought books worth Rs 5000 for her students.
