Most of us have an idea that the couple should go to gynecologist only after they fall pregnant or when there is difficulty in conceiving. But we all know that prevention is better than cure. Then why should not we take precaution to avoid complications in pregnancy so that we can have healthy mother and healthy baby.
Some of the diseases can manifest during pregnancy, like some diseases of heart, blood pressure, blood sugar etc. But if the couple comes to doctor when they are planning pregnancy, then we can diagnose it and start treatment so that pregnancy can be safe to both the mother and the baby.
On the other hand, some pre-existing disease may turn serious during pregnancy and endanger life of both mother and baby. This includes thyroid disease, hypertension, epilepsy, renal disease, cardiac disease etc. If taken care of properly, the disease can be controlled before pregnancy so that the risk can be reduced. Again all the drugs are not safe for the baby. So, if treated before pregnancy, the mother can be put on safer but effective drugs before pregnancy.
Some diseases may run in family and often goes undetected and can affect the baby. Thlassaemia, hemophilia etc are the best examples. So, if the couple comes to us before pregnancy, we can screen them to diagnose whether they are bearer of the disease or not and then we can take care to prevent birth of defective baby.
Some diseases indicate that there may be problems in having pregnancy, like problems in periods or abdominal pain in female, sexual problems in male and female etc. If treated properly, it will avoid unnecessary time wastage for trying for pregnancy.
The woman can be instructed how to remain healthy to have normal baby, before pregnancy. She can be advised some drugs (like folic acid), can be asked to avoid harmful drugs and substances (like drugs, excessive vitamin a, excessive vitamin d, excessive caffeine, smoking etc). Even the husband can be asked how to improve his fertility (by avoiding heat exposure to his scrotum).
Again some infections can be dangerous for the baby. So, before pregnancy we can treat the women for the infections and in some cases we can vaccinate her to prevent infection.

Folk Remedy Against Cancer

This excellent beverage who derived from the Russian folk medicine makes it much easier, and do wonders for your health.
Cleaning of intestines and the liver is the best thing you can do for your body. Although it will feel a lot better, you strengthen your immunity and will also protect you from infections and other diseases, and even cancer.
Ingredients:
.500 g fresh carrots
.500g fresh beets
.a handful of dried apricots
.a handful of raisins
.a spoonful of honey
Preparation:
Try to find foods that are grown organically.
Cut diced carrots and beets and place in the pot.
Pour freshly boiled water so that water can be two fingers above the vegetables.
Then add chopped dried apricots and raisins.
Place the pot on the fire until the water is going to boil, then immediately remove it.
When almost cool, add a spoonful of honey, covered and leave it to stand for 12 hours on cool and dry place.
Then strain the beverage and store in the refrigerator. Prepared quantity will be sufficient for two days. Other ingredients you can use for cooking.
Consumption:

.Drink half a glass of this beverage (100-150 ml), three times a day before meals.
.Purification of the intestines with this recipe should last one month, after which the intestines will be reborn.

MAHALAYA AMAVASYA
Mahalaya Amavasya
The last day of the fortnight which is sacred for offering oblations to departed ancestors, the new moon day, is considered as the most important day in the year for performing ceremonies and rites. This dark fortnight during the period September-October is known as the Mahalaya Paksha. The day of Mahalaya Amavasya (in Year 2014 it is on 23rd Sept 2014) is the day of great significance and importance to all Hindus.
It is the annual festival for propitiating the spirits of ancestors, with prayers for peace. The fortnight preceding the new moon is specially consecrated for the propitiation of such departed spirits. The ceremonies performed in honour of ancestors during each day of this fortnight are considered to be equal to those performed at Gaya. The principle in all such rites is the worship of the departed souls and the satisfaction of their wishes so that they might be in peace during the rest of the year.
According to ancient Hindu texts, on Mahalaya Amavasya, there is a conjunction of the sun and the moon and that the sun enters the sign Virgo (Kanya). On this day, it is believed that ancestors leave their abode and come down to the world of mortals and occupy the houses of their descendants. Hindus offer oblation of water to the departed on every new-moon day. The prescribed rites are also performed every year on the death anniversary.This is the Sraddha ceremony.
The special importance of these observances particularly during Mahalaya is that such ceremonies done during this fortnight have a very special effect.
The offerings reach the departed souls immediately and directly, due to a boon from Lord Yama.Karna, a renowned hero according to the Mahabharata was a very generous man. After his death the great charity he had done on earth was returned to him hundred fold in heaven. However all he got was gold and silver. There was no food as he been very generous only with gold and silver during his life. He prayed to God of Death and was sent back to earth for fourteen days to make up for this.
During the fourteen days he fed the poor and offered oblations of water. On his return to the heaven he was offered food in plenty. The fourteen days are commemorated in the Mahalaya Paksha. It is believed that due to the grace of Lord Yama, it came to be so ordained that such rites done at this particular period acquired unique merits. Even those who died without progeny received these oblations given on this Pitri-paksha Amavasya day. All those who had failed to do deeds of charity and Anna-Dana (gift of food) and were thus denied these comforts in the Pitri Loka, benefited by these ceremonies.
Those deceased whose date of death is not known and whose annual Sraddha cannot be done, they also get these oblations of Pitri Paksha. Souls whose life was cut off by violent accidental or unnatural death and to whom, therefore, offerings cannot reach in the ordinary course, to them, too, the Ptripaksha offerings reach directly. Hindus now observe this Paksha with great faith and worship and charity in the form of food is considered important during this period.
