By(pass)surgery – SENT AS RECEIVED – CHECK IT OUT FIRST

Recently, one person was admitted to a nursing home at Ahmedabad, due to severe chest pain. He had an earlier attack  in 2014 and was under treatment. The doctors now suggested Angiography.

Upon undergoing Angiography at multi speciality Hospital  Doctors diagnosed multiple blockages for which Angioplasty was ruled out and instead,  suggested 'Bypass Surgery'.

That evening, he was brought home as  doctor suggested his heart being very weak, bypass could be performed only after 10 - 15 days.

Meanwhile, after discussing the matter with relatives and close friends, fresh  information came from a family friend.

A new treatment known as-"Bio Chemical Angioplasty" has been introduced into the Indian medical theatre.

With this therapy, a patient who has to undergo by-pass need not do so.

Instead, the patient is given about 20 bottles of IV fluids in which certain medicament are injected. The medicine cleans the system and removes all blockages from the heart and the arteries. The number of bottles given may increase depending upon the age-factor and health of the patient.

Currently, only a few doctors in India specialise in this field

One of them is DR. Bimal Chhajer MBBS MD Ex Consultant AIIMS

He has a list of patients who had to undergo by-pass from major hospitals; but, instead after undergoing the new treatment, they are absolutely fine and are leading a normal life.

Festivities actually commence 10 days before Thiru Onam, on Atham. As per the Malayalam calendar, the dates for 2016 and their significance are as follows:

Atham (September 4, 2016) -- is when mythical King Mahabali is believed to have started preparing to come back and visit his kingdom. People begin the day with an early bath, followed by prayers, and the creation of floral arrangements (pookalam) on the ground in front of homes to welcome him. Traditionally, the pookalams are completed with ten rings, each representing a Hindu god. The colors are chosen to please each god, and only yellow flowers are used on Atham for the first layer of the pookalam. However, these days, more importance is given to how elaborate and striking the design is.  A grand procession, Athachamyam, marks the start of Onam celebrations near Kochi at Thripunithara.

A degree in engineering from IIT Delhi, a Masters degree, and a PhD from Houston were just stepping stones for Alok Sagar, an ex-IIT professor. Alok has been living for 32 years in the remote tribal villages of Madhya Pradesh, and serving the people living there.

While teaching at IIT Delhi, Alok had groomed numerous students, including Raghuram Rajan, the ex-RBI governor, reports Speaking Tree. After resigning from his work, Alok started working for tribals in the Betul and Hoshangabad districts of Madhya Pradesh. For the past 26 years, he has been living in Kochamu, a remote village with 750 tribals, lacking both electricity and roads, and with just a primary school.

Alok has planted more than 50,000 trees in the region, and believes that people can serve the country better by working at the grassroots level. "In India, people are facing so many problems, but people are busy proving their intelligence by showing their degrees rather than serving people," Alok told the Hindustan Times.
