The nose has a left and a right side; we use both to inhale and exhale.
Actually they are different; you would be able to feel the difference.
The right side represents the sun, left side represents the moon.
During a headache, try to close your right nose and use your left nose to
breathe.
In about 5 mins, your headache will be gone? If you feel tired, just
reverse, close your left nose and breathe through your right nose.
After a while, you will feel your mind is refreshed.
Right side belongs to 'hot', so it gets heated up easily, 
left side belongs to 'cold'.
Most females breathe with their left noses, so they get "cooled off" faster.
Most of the guys breathe with their right noses, they get worked up.
Do you notice the moment we wake up, 
which side breathes faster? Left or right? ?
If left is faster, you will feel tired.
So, close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing, 
you will get refreshed quickly.
This can be taught to kids, but it is more effective when practiced by
adults.
A person used to have bad headaches and was always visiting the doctor. 
There was this period when he suffered headache literally every night,
 unable to study. He took painkillers, did not work.
He decided to try out the breathing therapy here: 
closed his right nose and breathed through his left nose.
In less than a week, his headaches were gone! 
He continued the exercise for one month.
This alternative natural therapy without medication is 
something that he has experienced.
So, why not give it a try?

Tamil was official language of Haryana till 2010

Tamil is official language of Tamil Nadu. But it was also second official language of Haryana for more than 40 years.

When Haryana was formed in 1969, then Chief Minister of state, Bansi Lal made Tamil as second official language of Haryana. It was made to avoid making Punjabi as official language as Haryana was formed due to Punjabi suba agitation. It was second official language irrespective of the fact that there might not be even a single Tamil speaking native in the state.

It was second official language for more than 40 year till 2010, when then Haryana's Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, made Punjabi as second official language.

New Research Holds Promise For Restoring Lost Vision for glaucoma patients :-

Stanford researchers, funded in part by the National Eye Institute and the Glaucoma Research Foundation, make discovery that may lead to help for glaucoma patients who have lost vision. Study points toward potential regenerative therapies for damaged cells.

New research by Andrew Huberman, PhD, associate professor of neurobiology at Stanford University, has taken a novel approach to the study of nerve regeneration in glaucoma. In a study published in the scientific journal Nature Neuroscience, Dr. Huberman describes conditioning injured optic nerve cells to regenerate. Blind mice treated with this approach regained partial eyesight—a surprising discovery that has significant implications for neurodegenerative diseases like glaucoma.

In glaucoma, the retinal ganglion cells—which collect visual information and send it to the brain—suffer the most damage. Dr. Huberman and his colleagues have been exploring ways to help these cells regrow and reconnect to the brain. The researchers adopted a combined approach that uses both genetic and visual stimulation to enhance neural activity. They activated common growth mechanism in cells, called the mTOR signaling pathway, in the severed retinal ganglions of mice and also repeatedly exposed the damaged eye to high-contrast oscillating black-and-white images. The researchers discovered that this regimen was able to trigger the once-injured retinal cells to regrow optic nerve fibers along damaged pathways to the brain, giving the mice limited eyesight.

Huberman's research demonstrated for the first time that repaired retinal ganglion cells, when treated with combination therapy, have the capacity to re-establish connections to the brain to restore vision. This is just the beginning: Ocular repair and strategies to correct diseases like glaucoma may well lead to treatments for other causes of blindness and for neurodegenerative diseases that affect other parts of the body and brain, offering hope to millions of afflicted people worldwide.

The study, funded in part by the San Francisco-based Glaucoma Research Foundation, is part of the National Institutes of Health's "audacious goals" in vision research, which aims to develop new treatments for major eye diseases, including glaucoma, by 2022. "What they have shown in an animal model is that maybe we can restore vision by reconnecting the nerve cells that are damaged," said Thomas M. Brunner, President and CEO of the Glaucoma Research Foundation. "Their research shows that there may be promise for people, where we think vision is permanently gone, to restore it."

Andrew Iwach, MD, the executive director of the Glaucoma Center of San Francisco and a professor of ophthalmology at UC San Francisco, said the new research highlighted an opportunity for doctors to take a more active role in treatment, instead of just prevention. "This may help us open another area of exploration for research, not only to play defense and protect what's left, but also go on the offense to help patients," Dr. Iwach said.

Way back in 1874, London-based bakery Peek Freans created the Marie biscuit to commemorate the marriage of the Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia to the Duke of Edinburgh. Since then, Freans's creation has become a favourite munchie the world over and in India, it's almost synonymous with tea time.
VOICE recently shortlisted 10 Marie biscuit brands – Bonn, Anmol, Mc Vitie's, Cremica, Britannia, Sunfeast, Parle, Patanjali, Priyagold and Divss – and found out that the top performers in all the categories tested were Bonn, Anmol, McVitie's, Cremica and Britannia. The testings rated Bonn to be the the most value for money brand and it also has the most amount of fibre in it. As so many Marie biscuit ads have told you, a high-fibre diet offers many health benefits and while these biscuits may not be the most efficient means of getting the best of fibre, Bonn is a healthier choice than many competitors.
The tests are also done keeping in mind the claims of nutritional information that the brands declare on their packets. While testing for the sugar content in all the brands, guess who says there's more sugar in their biscuits than is actually there? Patanjanli. Also, the net weight of the packet was also less than the declared value. Looks like Baba Ramdev's 'Prakriti ka Ashirvad' is a bit lightweight.
Divss's has the least amount of fat in it. However the carbohydrate percentage in all the brands ranged in between 80 – 85 gm/100 gm, which were all above the declared values. Apart from this, the panellists also judged the samples on these parameters: colour and appearance, flavour/odour, consistency, taste, and aftertaste feeling − which collectively come under the category of sensory attributes. The average score for each parameter was taken into consideration to arrive at the final score for each brand. McVitie's topped in the overall sensory scores, followed by Britannia, Parle, and Bonn._,_.___
