[www.keralites.net] UK scientists get green light to genetically modify human embryos

UK scientists get green light to genetically modify human embryos
The technique could help explain and ultimately eradicate many diseases in humans - but it is not without controversy :-

Scientists in the UK will be allowed to genetically modify human embryos for the first time in history, after they received a licence to go ahead with groundbreaking research into the early stages of human life.

Dr Kathy Niakan says her research will help explain the genes needed for a human embryo to develop successfully into a healthy baby

Permission has been granted to alter the DNA of embryos in the first seven days after fertilisation, and could provide clues in the short term as to what causes miscarriage in women.

It remains illegal for the scientists to implant the altered embryos into women, but the decision represents a huge landmark in the use of revolutionary gene-editing technology known as Crispr-Cas9.

The research will see scientists cutting into the genetic code of embryos, isolating individual segments of DNA and assessing how they contribute to the early growth and behaviour of the embryos.

An embryo only has around 250 cells at the seven-day point of development, and a high proportion are simply absorbed into the placenta. Understanding which genes dictate this could dramatically improve IVF success rates in future.

[www.keralites.net] G LYCEMIC INDEX OF 1200 FOODS

Glycemic Index of 1200 Foods
(and how to live to 100)
by George Eby
The following Glycemic Index file is taken from the University of Sydney Glycemic Index web site, the most extensive, authoritative source available for world-wide foods. In this current page, one could previously go to the food to be investigated, click on the link which would take you to comprehensive information including the original reference article from the Universtiy of Sydney page. However, the University has recently improved their page and my 1200 links no longer work. After finding the food you want to learn more about on my page, go to their site and search for specific foods including newly indexed foods that may not be in the following index.
Another glycemic index file from the July 2002 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (which concentrates on American foods) is here. Both are complete listings and each includes a number of ethnic and international foods.
The idea of turning away from huge amounts of carbohydrates (sugar, corn syrup, starchy foods such as refined flour delicacies) and towards foods with more nutrition is an excellent idea for increasing health and longevity. Barring accidents and major diseases, I don't believe it is too hard to live to be 100, if you follow my advise. As you look through the list of foods below searching for their glycemic index, please consider the following concept. The glycemic index (GI) is a system for measuring how fast a carbohydrate triggers a rise in blood sugar. The higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. A GI of 70 or more is high and consumption of large amounts of these foods is associated with low nutritional intake, morbidity and early death. A GI is 56 to 69 is considered medium and these foods usually are nutritious. A GI of 55 or less is low, and these foods are often highly nutritious and associated with longevity.
Some food such as rice and carrots have a large range of GI values. This variation is caused by inherent botanical differences as well as preparation methods. Carrots found in U.S. grocery stores are most likely low on the GI scale. There are no GI values given for meat, poultry, fish, avocadoes, cheese or eggs because these foods contain little carbohydrate, and are not likely to induce a significant rise in blood glucose. These are the only foods I eat. These foods are clearly healthy choices associated with extreme longevity.
The only time a high glycemic index food is useful is during athletic competition, heavy manual labor or work, or to treat someone in a diabetic coma (too much insulin). Otherwise,...
(very long report, please go to the website:)

[www.keralites.net] China Makes Major Moves To Ban ............

China Makes Major Moves To Ban Islam

If there's one thing that can be said about the Chinese government, it's this: They don't care one whit about being politically correct.
And apparently, they're willing to address something that the West will not:
the fact that Islam is inherently dangerous.
Isn't it ironic that an oppressive, communist country sees what free nations don't: that, ultimately, Islam always turns nasty?
It's presence in a society always ends badly for everyone - except for its radical adherents.
This is what "tolerance" will get you.
Every where Islam has been welcomed by a free people, it has grown from a quiet snake in the grass into an uncontrollable dragon.Even when you give milk to the snake one day it will bite you and kill you, that is too true of the Muslim.
Islamist are patient; they believe Allah is on their side, and they will wait.
They bide their time, infiltrating a culture, until they have gained all of the strength they need to strike at the heart of the people who have accepted them into their midst.
There is a very simple reason for this; Islam is not just a religion,   it is a political ideology and a cult of death, and no behaviour is tolerated outside of its murderous directives.

So what is China doing?

It's declaring an all-out war to make sure Islam doesn't take over, and never gains the strength to attack them.

Here are China's directives:
– Female head-coverings banned.
– Men are discouraged from growing long beards.
– Islamic restaurants must sell cigarettes and drinks AND they must display them prominently.
-- Sell no Halal meat,
-- Display notice "Pork Available" even if not available..
Any business owner who does not follow this order…will lose their business registration.

China sees what's happening to the West.
It sees what happened in France, throughout the European Union, in Boston, in California, and even in Texas.
So they have taken a stand.  Islam will not be tolerated in China.
The country has decided to eradicate the plague before it can gain a foot-hold and turn into the dragon.

Unlike our inept USA government, with it's Muslim sympathizers - the foremost being our President and his administration -
China understands the reality behind Islam.

Communism is a horrible form of government, but it also unshackles China from tolerating
the idiotic delusions of those who continue to preach that Islam is a "religion of Peace."
It is no such thing. Britain/Canada/Australia should take heed.None of them evr going to contribute ,they are leeches who suck the blood. They all are on benefits and the only thing they are good at are producing brats in dozens

[www.keralites.net] NEUROPATHY CAUSES AND NATURAL SOLUTIONS

Neuropathy Causes and Natural Solutions
The term Neuropathy is short for 'peripheral neuropathy'. It relates to nerve damage suffered by the peripheral nervous system, which is in charge of our nerves outside the brain and spinal cord.

Neuropathy is a complication that can be caused by a number of various conditions. Physical trauma, repetitive injury, infections, metabolic problems and exposure to toxins and some drugs can all lead to peripheral neuropathy.

feet neuropathy
Signs and symptoms of neuropathy
Neuropathy usually starts as a tingling or burning sensation at our extremities, such as fingers and toes. There is also a loss of sensation at the edge of the nerves that patients have reported feeling like they are wearing a thin stocking or glove on their hands.
The precise symptoms differ from patient to patient based on the types of nerves affected. There are three types of nerves that may be affected by neuropathy: sensory, motor and autonomic.
Sensory nerves
Sensory nerves are responsible for collecting sensory information for the body, such as touch. Neuropathy of the sensory nerves can be expressed as:
- Spreading numbness and tingling in hands and/or feet (which can spread to the arms and legs).
- Burning, sharp or electric-like pain
- Extreme sensitivity to touch
- Problems with coordination
Motor nerves:
Motor nerves are the nerves responsible for activating our muscles and control movements.
- Muscle weakness
- Paralysis
Autonomic nerves:
Autonomic nerves are responsible for internal actions of the body, such as regulating digestion, heat and blood pressure.
- Intolerance to heat
- Problems with digestion, bladder and bowel control
- Dizziness (or lightheadedness) brought about by problems with blood pressure.
A common cause of neuropathy: Diabetes
For diabetics, neuropathy can be quite common. That said, about 50% of diabetics who have neuropathy won't notice the symptoms, and it will stay on a very low level. For the other 50%, however, the symptoms will be unavoidable. Pain is the most common complaint, usually a 'prickling', 'stabbing' or 'burning' pain, that happens mostly at night. This, along with a numbness that feels as if the limb is 'asleep' - occurs predominantly in the toes, feet and legs.
diabetic neuropathy
What do doctors prescribe for this condition?
Most doctors will stick to the old medical regime of anti-depressants, anti-convulsants, steroid and cortisone injections, lidocaine patches and pain killers. These are powerful drugs that address the painful sensations for short and long term relief. However, as powerful drugs, they have a host of side-effects and must be administered very carefully. Some medical practitioners recommend electrical stimulation of the pain area and of the spine. The medical community is united in agreement that more solutions to this problem are required, but progress has been very slow from the medical and drug industry so far.

Natural solutions to neuropathy
First off, if you are suffering from diabetes related neuropathy, you must do the following:
- Give up smoking
- Cut down on alcohol consumption or give it up altogether
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Exercise
Other recommended habits for those suffering from neuropathy include: Wearing clothing that causes less irritation, such as cotton, covering the sensitive areas with wound dressing or cling film and using cold packs.
Stress relief is also a big help when it comes to neuropathy, and so relaxation techniques are a big help, such as yoga, meditation and acupuncture.

Vitamin therapy
Clinical studies have shown that certain supplements can have a cumulative effect on the symptoms and causes of neuropathy. These herbal extracts can be taken without worry that they may clash with a parallel medical treatment. Certain herbal extracts and formulas offer a level of relief that has rarely been reached by just using medical procedures. This must be taken daily to achieve the desired relief.
Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12.
vitamin bVitamin B deficiency is one of the major causes of neuropathy, and also one of the best natural solutions. All herbal extracts contain large amounts of vitamin B1, usually in its common form of thiamine.
Recent natural medications have reverted to using benfotiamine, which has been found to be significantly more effective in delivering vitamin B than thiamine is (x3).
Stabilized R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (R-ALA)
This powerful antioxidant that is one of the few, rare materials that can pass through the brain's blood/brain barrier to enter the brain and go directly where it is needed the most.
Most importantly, it has a specific effect on the nerves that eases the pain and numbness associated with neuropathy, and promotes better blood flow and oxygen to the nerves.
Recent studies have reported that just by using the R-ALA alone, orally, has reduced symptoms of neuropathy.
Neuropathy support formulas
neuropathy support formulaThese days, it is common for those suffering from neuropathy to take both medical and vitamin therapies, combining short-term treatment with the cumulative effects of correct nutrition.
The best formulas (so make sure they have these in the ingredient list) include vitamins B1, B2 and B12, as well as Vitamin D, R-ALA and materials that relax your nervous system, avoiding overstimulation.
I personally recommend checking those out for anyone who is really looking for a solution to their neuropathy problem, or is worried they are developing one. For diabetes patients, this would be a good way to perhaps prevent the onset of neuropathic symptoms.
