Whom will North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un kill next, and how?

Tales of Kim Jong-un's ruthlessness -- some exaggerated -- have made him more feared within his country, and with a perpetual finger on the nuclear trigger earning him global notoriety.
Ever since he assumed power in 2011, the 32-year-old North Korean dictator is said to have executed nearly 75 people, including members of his family, for incurring his wrath or likely daring to stand up to him.
His latest order adds to his growing reputation for whimsical barbarity.

Ma Won-chun, the chief architect of Pyongyang Airport's Terminal II, was reportedly murdered because Kim disliked his designs.
According to KCNA, the country's state news agency, Kim said: 'Defects were manifested in the last phase of the construction of the Terminal 2 because the designers failed to bear in mind the party's idea of architectural beauty that it is the life and soul and core in architecture to preserve the Juche (self-reliant) character and national identity.' (Whatever that means! North Korean-Commie gobbledygook!!!)
'It is necessary to finish the construction of the terminal to be an icon of Songun Korea, the face of the country and the gateway to Pyongyang.' (More North Korean-Commie gobbledygook!!!)

Execution by anti-aircraft gun

North Korean Defence Minister Hyon Yong-Chol was publicly executed with an anti-aircraft gun for reportedly falling asleep during military meetings and talking back to Kim.
The 66 year old, who was appointed head of North Korea's military in 2012, was killed with hundreds watching at a military camp in the capital Pyongyang on April 30.
The anti-aircraft gun system used was a ZPU-4 comprised of four 14.5mm heavy machine guns (similar to a US .50 caliber heavy machine gun) mounted on a towed wheeled chassis.
When directed at the human body at close range, the destruction would be devastating and a human body likely pulverised.

In the days following Kim's takeover of his country, several key government officials and powerful generals were either arrested or executed.
Among them was then deputy defence minister Kim Chol, who was executed in January 2012 for enjoying liquor in the company of a female colleague in the North Korean military in violation of the dictator's explicit warning against 'singing or dancing, merrymaking or recreation' during the mourning period for his father Kim Jong-il.
Chol and others were reportedly executed using mortar rounds fired at point-blank range.
According to the strategic affairs magazine Foreign Policy, Chol attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Sino-Korean Friendship Tower in Pyongyang with then Chinese Vice Premier (now Premier) Li Keqiang in October 2011.
The execution of an official who attended an event with a top leader of North Korea's solitary ally was possibly aimed at deterring any future challenges to the young leader.

When Kim Jong-il died, Jang Song Thaek -- married to the older Kim's sister and then considered the second most powerful man in North Korea -- was widely seen as regent to Kim Jong-un.
An insecure Kim felt his uncle was trying to create a power faction by letting people who had been previously dismissed return to work.
According to KCNA, 'From long ago, Jang had a dirty political ambition. He dared not raise his head when Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il (Kim Jong-un's grandfather and father) were alive. He began revealing his true colours, thinking that it was just the time for him to realise his wild ambition in the period of historic turn when the generation of the revolution was replaced.'
'The accused Jang brought together undesirable forces and formed a faction as the boss of a modern day factional group for a long time and thus committed such hideous crimes as attempting to overthrow the State,' KCNA added.
Jang was stripped of all posts and expelled from the Workers Party for offences including factionalism, corruption and dissolute behaviour. A special military tribunal found him guilty of treason.

Branding him 'despicable human scum who was worse than a dog who perpetrated cursed acts of treachery' Jang and five of his aides were allegedly stripped naked and fed to 120 hungry hounds, who had been starved for three days.
The whole process lasted an hour, and as they were eaten, hundreds of officials watched. However, this version of Jang's death has been disputed.
A month later, reports emerged that Jang's relatives too had been executed.
The relatives executed include Jang's sister Jang Kye-sun, her husband Jon Yong-jin, North Korea's ambassador to Cuba, Jang Yong-chol, Jang's nephew of Jang and the country's ambassador to Malaysia, as well as his two sons.
The sons, daughters and grandchildren of Jang's two brothers were also executed, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, adding that it was unclear when they were put to death

A few months ago, I tried to book a gas cylinder for my home in Bangalore.
Now as many of you will know, it has become very easy to do this in India these days.
You call a number, an automated system registers your request and thanks you for using the service and you hang up. It takes no more than 15 seconds. The cylinder arrives a couple of days later.
This time it did not arrive and I wondered why. I called the Bharat Gas office and was told to submit some financial documents to claim my subsidy.
I said I was not eligible for it and asked what I would have to do to get the gas at full price. I was told to come down to the office, which I did (for the first time) to do some paperwork.
The place was crowded and chaotic and some staffers did not seem to know what the deregistration document, called Form 5, was and where it was stacked, apparently because there was no demand for it.
Anyway, it was presently located and I filled it out. After a little more work, and another trip to the office, I was finally able to get myself deregistered for the subsidy, and got my cylinder. 
A few days ago, I got a call from a well spoken man whom I did not know, but who addressed me by name. He was an officer who was calling up people who had deregistered. He said the government had arranged a function the following day, which was Sunday, for people to publicly sign a document giving up the subsidy (in the presence of the minister).
I replied I had already done so, and he said he knew this, but he requested politely that I come anyway and do it again in public. This I declined to do.
I am writing all this because of the government's complaint that three months after the prime minister launched the 'Give It Up' campaign, only 0.35 per cent of consumers have actually given up using subsidised cooking gas.
Of a total of over 15 crore (150 million) homes, only 6 lakh (600,000) or so have voluntarily chosen to buy it at market price.
The minister in charge of petroleum, Dharmendra Pradhan, has been urging middle class Indians since January to pay full price so that the subsidy money reaches the poor alone.
The government loses Rs 207 a cylinder and about Rs 40,000 crore (Rs 400 trillion) in all. So this is one easy way in which the middle class can contribute, but which so far it has not done to any great extent.
Even some members of Parliament and legislative assemblies had not signed up to de register.
Why is this so? I see two reasons. The minor one is that the government makes it difficult for consumers to deregister, as I found out. Booking a gas is easy since the system identifies subscribers through their registered mobiles (which is how I can make the booking on the automated system without knowing my own subscriber number).
It should be just as easy to deregister for the subsidy but it is not. Instead of an automated system there are forms and queues. There is a Web site for deregistration, www.MyLPG.in, and I went there as I was writing this piece, but it was terribly designed and I could locate no specific option to deregister online.
I also accept that if I had not had a problem in getting my gas cylinder that time, I may not have bothered to go to the office because it is too much of an inconvenience.
So if the minister is complaining that the prime minister's scheme is a flop, he must carry some of the blame for it.
But this, as I said, is the minor reason. The major reason is the reluctance of the Indian citizen, particularly in the middle class, to pay his dues. This may be seen as a sweeping statement, but we don't have to go too far for evidence to support this.
Only around three per cent of Indians pay any income tax and these are mostly those who are employed, and whose taxes are deducted.
I often refer to us as a nation of thieves, who steal from our government. Of course we think of ourselves as being most patriotic and will come to tears when a song like Ae mere pyare watanor the national anthem is playing, but that is the extent to which most of us will display our patriotism.
In an instance where we are stealing money from the poor and where the government is begging us to help, we have been found wanting and have let our country down.

സ്വന്തം രാജ്യത്തിന് വിദേശികളെഴുതിയ ചരിത്രം പഠിക്കാന്‍ വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ലോകത്തിലെ ഏകരാജ്യം ഭാരതമാണ്. നമ്മള്‍ പഠിച്ചതും പഠിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുമായ ഭാരത ചരിത്രം വെള്ളക്കാരെഴുതിയ പച്ചക്കള്ളം മാത്രം.

നമ്മളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച വാസ്തവ വിരുദ്ധമായ ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ നിന്നും മാറി, യഥാര്‍ഥ ഭാരത ചരിത്രം എല്ലാവരിലേക്കും എത്തിക്കാന്‍, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ നമ്മളറിയാത്ത ചില ഭാരത ചരിത്ര സത്യങ്ങള്‍ അറിയാന്‍ ഒരു ശ്രമം, അതാണ്‌ 'എന്‍റെ ഭാരതം' എന്ന പംക്തിയിലൂടെ അഗ്നി ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്.

ത്രേതായുഗത്തില്‍ ശ്രീരാമന്‍ ധര്‍മ്മത്തെ സംരക്ഷിച്ചു. അയോധ്യമുതല്‍ ശ്രീലങ്ക വരെ ശ്രീരാമന് സ്വയം അത് സാധിച്ചു . ദ്വാപരയുഗത്തില്‍ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്‍ നേരിട്ടും പാണ്ഡവരിലൂടെയും ധര്‍മ്മം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. കലിയുഗത്തില്‍, ഈ രാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്‍റെ ചൈതന്യം, അനവധി പാണ്ഡവസമൂഹങ്ങളിലൂടെ ധര്‍മ്മത്തെ സംരക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു.

ദ്വാപരയുഗത്തില്‍ ധര്‍മ്മം അറിയാവുന്ന ഭീഷ്മരും ദ്രോണരും കൗരവ പക്ഷത്ത് നിന്നതുപോലെ കലിയുഗത്തിലും ധര്‍മ്മം അറിയാവുന്ന പലരും എതിര്‍പക്ഷത്ത് നില്‍പ്പുണ്ട്. കലിയുഗത്തിലെ ധര്‍മ്മസംരക്ഷണത്തിലും, രാഷ്ട്ര സംരക്ഷണത്തിലും ശിഖണ്ടിമാരും, ശകുനിമാരും, കര്‍ണ്ണന്മാരും, ദുര്യോധനന്മാരും, അന്ധരായ ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രന്മാരും ഉണ്ട്. എന്നിട്ടും എന്നത്തേയും പോലെ ഭാരതവും ഭാരത സംസ്കൃതിയും ഇന്നും ജയിക്കുന്നു ഇനിയും ജയിക്കുകതന്നെ ചെയ്യും.

അലക്സാണ്ടര്‍ ഭാരതത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ശക്തമായി ഭാരതീയര്‍ തിരിച്ചടിച്ചു. കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തിയ ദേശം ഭാരതീയര്‍ക്കുതന്നെ കൊടുത്ത് അലക്സാണ്ടര്‍ തിരിച്ചു യാത്രയായി. ശേഷിക്കുന്ന യവനര്‍ ഭാരതസംസ്കൃതിയോട് ചേര്‍ത്തു. ഭാരതത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ച മധ്യേഷ്യയിലെ ശാകന്മാര്‍ ഭാരതത്തിലിഴുകി ചേര്‍ന്നു.
ഡെമട്രിയാസ് എന്ന ഗ്രീക്ക് രാജാവ് ഭാരതത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ച് മുമ്പോട്ട് നീങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും ദാത്താമിത്രന്‍ എന്ന പേരില്‍ ഭാരതീയനായി ജീവിച്ച്, ഭാരതീയസംസ്കൃതി സ്വീകരിച്ച്, ഇവിടെ തന്നെ മരിച്ചു.

വിദേശിയായ അലക്സാണ്ടറെപ്പോലെ ഭാരതത്തെ ആക്രമിക്കാന്‍ വന്നവരെ എതിര്‍ക്കാന്‍ ചന്ദ്രഗുപ്തമൗര്യനെപ്പോലുള്ള രാജാക്കന്മാരെ ചാണക്യനിലൂടെ ഭാരതം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. ചൈനയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഭാരതത്തെ ആക്രമിച്ച് കയറിയ കുഷാനന്മാരോട് പോരാടാന്‍ കനിഷ്ക്കനെപോലുള്ള ഭരണാധികാരികളെ ഈ പുണ്യഭൂമി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

ഇസ്ലാം മതം, വാള്‍മുനയിലൂടെ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ വന്ന ഉബൈദുള്ളയെ 711 AD യില്‍ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തി തിരിച്ചയച്ചു. അതി ശക്തമായ പ്രതിരോധനിരയിലൂടെ മുഹമ്മദ്‌ ബിന്‍ കാസിമിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തെ ഭാരതീയര്‍ പിന്‍തിരിച്ചു . ക്രൂരനായ ഗസ്നിയുടെ ആക്രമണത്തിന്റെ തിക്തഫലങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും നാം പാഠം പഠിച്ചു മുമ്പോട്ട്‌ പോയി. ഗസ്നിയുടെ പരമ്പരകള്‍ പരസ്പ്പരം പടവെട്ടിയും,ചത്തും, കൊന്നും കുറച്ചുകാലമേ ഭാരതത്തില്‍ നിലനിന്നുള്ളൂ .

ഗോറിയെ തടുത്തുനിര്‍ത്താന്‍ഭാരതീയര്‍ക്ക് കുറേയൊക്കെ സാധിച്ചു. അന്ത്യത്തില്‍ ഇവിടെ വെച്ച് തന്നെ അയാള്‍ അന്ത്യംകൊണ്ടു. ചതിയും വഞ്ചനയും ജീവിത ചര്യയാക്കിയ മുസ്ലീം ഭരണാധികാരി ബെഹ്റം ഷാ യെ ഭാരതീയ മുസ്ലീമുകള്‍ തന്നെ കൊന്നു. കിരാത വാഴ്ചനടത്തിയ ഗിയാസുദ്ദീന്‍ ബല്‍ബനെ അയാളുടെ പതിനിധി തുഗ്രല്‍ ഖാന്‍ തന്നെ ഭാരതത്തില്‍ വെച്ച് ചതിച്ചു കൊന്നു.

ഇക്കാലത്ത് ഭാരതാതിര്‍ത്തി കടന്നുവന്ന മംഗോളിയരെ മുസ്ലീങ്ങള്‍ തന്നെ തുരത്തിയില്ലാതാക്കി. ശത്രുവിനെ ശത്രുക്കള്‍തന്നെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു. ഭാരതം ഭരിച്ച ക്രൂരനായ ജലാലുദ്ദീന്‍ ഖില്‍ജിയെ അയാളുടെ മരുമകന്‍ തന്നെ കൊന്നു. കംസനെ കൃഷ്ണന്‍ വധിച്ചതുപോലെ.
ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യ വരെ ചോരപ്രളയം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച മല്ലിക് കഫുറിനെ അയാളുടെ തന്നെ സൈന്യം പിച്ചിചീന്തി തലതട്ടി തെറുപ്പിച്ചു. മറ്റൊരു നീചനായ മുബാറക് ഷാ തന്‍റെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങള്‍ ചതിക്കുമോ എന്ന് ഭയന്ന് അവരെയെല്ലാം കൊന്നു. ഏറ്റവും പ്രീയ സുഹൃത്തും ക്രൂരനുമായ ഖുസ്രാവ് ഷായുടെ കൈകൊണ്ട് തലയറുക്കപ്പെട്ട് പുല്‍മെടയില്‍ തട്ടിത്തെറിച്ചു വീണു. ക്രൂരനായ ഈ ഖുസ്രാവ് ഷായെ മുസ്ലീം ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ പതിയിരുന്ന് ചതിച്ചുകൊന്നു.

ഹൈന്ദവ രക്തത്തില്‍ നിത്യവും കുളിച്ചാനന്ദിച്ച ഗിയാസുദ്ദീന്‍ തുഗ്ലക്കിനെ ആനകളെക്കൊണ്ട് ചവിട്ടി കൊല്ലിച്ചത് സ്വന്തം മകനായിരുന്നു. മുഹമ്മദ്‌ ബിന്‍ തുഗ്ലക്ക് എന്ന ഭരണാധികാരിയെ, ഭ്രാന്തനായി മുദ്രകുത്തി മുസ്ലീം രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍തന്നെ അയാള്‍ക്കെതിരെ യുദ്ധംചെയ്തുകൊന്നു.

ഇബ്രാഹിം ലോഡിക്കെതിരെ, ബാബറെ ക്ഷണിച്ചത് മറ്റൊരു മുസ്ലീം രാജാവായ ഇബ്രാഹിം ഖാന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു. ബാബറിനെതിരെ ഹിന്ദു രാജാവായ റാണാസംഗയെ സഹായിച്ചത് ഭാരതീയമുസ്ലീം രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു. അക്ബറിനെതിരെ പൊരുതാന്‍ റാണാ പ്രതാപസിംഹന് ഭാരതം ജന്മം നല്‍കി. തന്‍റെ പിതാവ് ജഹാംഗീറിന്‍റെയും സഹോദരന്മാരുടേയും കണ്ണുകുത്തിപ്പൊട്ടിച്ച 'പ്രേമത്തിന്റെ മൂര്‍ത്തിമത്ഭാവ' മായ ഷാജഹാനെ, പ്രകൃതിനിയമം പോലെ മകന്‍ ദാര തടവിലാക്കി ശ്വാസം മുട്ടിച്ചു കൊന്നു.

ക്രസ്തവമതം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കാനും, ഭാരതത്തെ കൊള്ളയടിക്കാനും വന്ന പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസുകാരെ കൊള്ളയടിക്കാരായ മുഗളന്മാര്‍ ഷാജഹാന്‍റെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തില്‍ തന്നെയാണ് യുദ്ധത്തിലൂടെ നേരിട്ടത്. ഷാജഹാന്‍റെ പുത്രന്മാര്‍ ദാരയും ഔറംഗസീബും പരസ്പരം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു. കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍ പരസ്പ്പരം യുദ്ധംചെയ്തപ്പോള്‍, മഹാരാജാ ജസ്വന്ത് സിങ്ങ് അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു. അടിച്ച് മരിച്ചുകൊള്ളാന്‍ സഹായിച്ചു.

ഔറംഗസീബിനെ കുറേയൊക്കെ തളക്കാന്‍ ശിവജിക്ക് സാധിച്ചു. മുസ്ലീം ഭരണം അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ പ്രകൃതിനിശ്ചയിച്ചത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ്‌കാരെ ആയിരുന്നു. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ്‌കാരതു ചെയ്തു. കള്ളന്മാരെ കള്ളന്മാര്‍തന്നെ ഭാരതത്തില്‍ തടഞ്ഞു.

മുസ്ലീം ശക്തികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ വിജയനഗര സാമ്രാജ്യവും, മറാത്താ ശക്തിയും സിഖ് ചൈതന്യവുമുണര്‍ന്നു. ഭക്തിപ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിലൂടെ ഭാരതത്തിന്‍റെ ആത്മീയതയും പ്രഭാപൂരിതമായി. മതംമാറ്റാനും ഭാരതത്തെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യാനും വന്ന പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസുകാര്‍ക്കെതിരെ പിന്നീട് അതേ ആവശ്യത്തിന് ഇവിടെ വന്ന ഡച്ചുകാര്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞു.പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസ് ശക്തിയേയും ഡച്ച് ശക്തിയേയും ഒതുക്കാന്‍ ഫ്രാന്‍സുകാരെത്തി മൂന്നുപേരെയും ഒതുക്കാന്‍ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്കാരുമെത്തി.

ഭാരതത്തെ അടിമുടി ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യാന്‍ വന്ന ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്കാര്‍ അതു കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തതോടൊപ്പം ഭാരതത്തെ ലോകത്തിനു മുമ്പിലും ലോകത്തെ ഭാരതത്തിനു മുമ്പിലും അവതരിപ്പിക്കുക എന്ന സത്കര്‍മ്മവും ചെയ്തു. അവര്‍ ആധുനിക ശാസ്ത്ര സാങ്കേതിക മണ്ഡലങ്ങളും ലോക ഭാഷയും ഇന്ത്യക്കാരിലെത്തിച്ചു.

അതിശക്തരായ ഇംഗ്ലീഷുകാരെ തളക്കാന്‍ ഭാരതത്തില്‍ അനവധി വീരശൂരപരാക്രമികള്‍ ജന്മമെടുത്തു.സത്യത്തിന്‍റേയും, അഹിംസയുടേയും ധര്‍മ്മമുപയോഗിച്ച് ഭാരതം ഇംഗ്ലീഷുകാരുടെ ഭരണമവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു. ആയുധമെടുക്കാതെ ആരേയും ദ്രോഹിക്കാതെ നാം സ്വതന്ത്രരായി. അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തലുകളേയും അടങ്ങാത്ത ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ ക്രൂരതകളേയും നാം അഹിംസയും ആത്മീയതയും കൊണ്ട് നേരിട്ടു.

അകത്തുനിന്നും പുറത്തുനിന്നും അധാര്‍മ്മിക അനുഭവങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നിനു പിറകേ മറ്റൊന്നായി ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങേണ്ടി വന്നിട്ടും ഭാരതവും, സനാതനധര്‍മ്മവും, ഭാരതീയ സംസ്കൃതിയും ഇന്നും ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ചൈതന്യവത്തായി പ്രഭാപൂരിതമായി..
ഈ നാട്, 'എന്‍റെ ഭാരതം' ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു പുനര്‍ജന്മം പോലെ.
