ഒരു കുന്നോളം പച്ചപ്പ്‌ പ്രകൃതിക്ക്‌ തിരിച്ചു നല്‍കി ചെങ്കല്‍ ക്വാറി ഉടമ

 

 

കണ്ണൂര്‍: പ്രകൃതിയെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്‌തതിന്‌ ഒരു കുന്നോളം പച്ചപ്പ്‌ തിരികെ നല്‍കി കടംവീട്ടുകയാണ്‌ ഈ ചെങ്കല്‍ ക്വാറി ഉടമ. താന്‍ ഖനനം നടത്തിയ പത്തേക്കറോളം ഭൂമി മണ്ണിട്ട്‌ നികത്തി അതില്‍ വാഴയും റബറും തെങ്ങുമൊക്കെ വച്ച്‌ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു കൃഷി ഭൂമി ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്‌ പയ്യന്നൂര്‍ മാത്തിലിനടുത്ത ഏച്ചിലാംവയലിലെ മണികണ്‌ഠന്‍. മണികണ്‌ഠന്റെ തോട്ടത്തില്‍ മൂവായിരത്തിലേറെ വാഴകളാണ്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ കുലച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നത്‌. ദീര്‍ഘവിളയായി പത്തേക്കര്‍ തോട്ടത്തില്‍ തെങ്ങും കമുകും റബറും സ്‌ഥാനം പിടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. വാഴയെ കൂടാതെ ഇടവിളയായി പച്ചക്കൃഷിയുണ്ട്‌.

14 വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പാണ്‌ മണികണ്‌ഠന്‍ കാങ്കോല്‍-ആലപ്പടമ്പ്‌ പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ആലക്കാട്‌ 12 ഏക്കര്‍ തരിശുഭൂമി വാങ്ങി ചെങ്കല്‍ ഖനനം ആരംഭിച്ചത്‌. ഖനനം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായതോടെ മണ്ണിന്റെ മാറിയ ഘടന എങ്ങനെ തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരാമെന്ന ആലോചനയിലായി മണികണ്‌ഠന്‍. ചെങ്കല്‍ ഖനനത്തിനു വേണ്ടി നീക്കം ചെയ്‌ത മണ്ണും പുറത്തു നിന്നു മേല്‍മണ്ണും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഖനനം ചെയ്‌ത കുഴയിലിട്ടു നിറച്ചു ഇതിനെ മനോഹരമായ തോട്ടമാക്കിയെടുക്കാന്‍ പിന്നെ താമസം വന്നില്ല. ജലസേചനത്തിനായി രണ്ടു കുളങ്ങളും തീര്‍ത്തു. റബറും തെങ്ങും കമുകുമെല്ലാം വച്ചു പിടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇടവിളയായി വാഴയും പച്ചകൃഷിയും നട്ടതോടെ ശരിക്കും ഇത്‌ മനോഹരമായ തോട്ടമായി മാറി. രണ്ട്‌ ഏക്കര്‍ സ്‌ഥലത്തു ഇപ്പോഴും ചെങ്കല്‍ ചെങ്കല്‍ ഖനനം നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്‌. ഇത്‌ അവസാനിപ്പിച്ച്‌ ഇവിടെ ആധുനിക സൗകര്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ ഫാം ആരംഭിക്കാനുള്ള തയ്യാറെടുപ്പിലാണ്‌ ചെങ്കല്‍ ക്വാറി ഓണേഴ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സംസ്‌ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി കൂടിയായ മണികണ്‌ഠന്‍. കുളങ്ങളില്‍ അലങ്കാര മത്സ്യ കൃഷി നടത്താനും ആലോചനയുണ്ട്‌. ചെങ്കല്‍ ക്വാറി ഉടമകളുടെ യോഗങ്ങളില്‍ പോകുമ്പോഴേല്ലാം മണികണ്‌ഠന്‍ സംസാരിക്കുക തങ്ങള്‍ കവര്‍ന്നെടുത്ത പ്രകൃതിയുടെ പച്ചപ്പിനെ അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ സ്വാഭാവികതയിലൂഴടയും തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരാനുള്ള മാര്‍ഗങ്ങളേക്കുറിച്ചാണ്‌. ഇനി മണികണ്‌ഠന്‌ ഇത്‌ പറഞ്ഞു ഫലിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവരില്ല, ഈ തോട്ടം കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്താല്‍ മാത്രം മതിയാകും.
