ഒരു കോഴിമുട്ടയില്‍നിന്നും 80 കിലോകലോറി ഊര്‍ജം ലഭിക്കും. 6.3 ഗ്രാം പ്രോട്ടീന്‍, 0.6 ഗ്രാം കാര്‍ബോഹൈഡ്രേറ്റ്, 5 ഗ്രാം കൊഴുപ്പ് എന്നിവ അടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1.5 ഗ്രാം പൂരിത കൊഴുപ്പുകളും 213 മില്ലിഗ്രാം കൊളസ്‌ട്രോളും 0.063 ഗ്രാം സോഡിയം, .03 മില്ലിഗ്രാം ഫോസ്ഫറസ്, 27 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം അയഡിന്‍, 6 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം സെലീനിയം എന്നിവയും അടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

വിറ്റാമിന്‍ എ 98 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, വിറ്റാമിന്‍ ഡി 0.9 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, ബി2-0.24 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, ബി12-1.3 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, ഫോളിക് ആസിഡ് 26 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, ബയോട്ടിന്‍ 10 മൈക്രോഗ്രാം, പാന്റോഐഹിക് അമ്ലം 0.9 മില്ലിഗ്രാം, കോളിന്‍ 145 മില്ലി ഗ്രാം എന്നിവയും കോഴിമുട്ടയിലുണ്ട്.

നാഷണല്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റിയൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ന്യൂട്രീഷന്‍ പ്രതിശീര്‍ഷ മുട്ടയുടെ ഉപഭോഗം 180 ആക്കാനാണ് ശുപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ദേശീയ ശരാശരി 49.8 ഉം കേരളത്തിലിത് 74ഉംമാണ്. ചൈനയിലെ പ്രതിശീര്‍ഷ ഉപഭോഗം ആണ്ടില്‍ 300 ആണ്. പ്രകൃതിയില്‍നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും പോഷകമൂല്യമേറിയതും ചെലവ് കുറഞ്ഞതുമായ പോഷാകാഹാരമാണ് കോഴിമുട്ട.
